For me, I'd have to say that I find gallops easy like Rayword. However, I still have problems with them if they are coming RIGHT after a long stream of fourths or eighths. Something like Saint Goes Marching (Remix) Heavy or transitioning in TSUGARU SP Heavy or just the awesome fun of Rhythm and Police (K.O.G. G3 mix) got me on my first plays on pad and sight reads but I find them easy now that I have the rhythm down.

Also, this isn't the "hardest" I can think of but just some hard 9s that would be rated pretty high:
TSUGARU SP Heavy (Re-rated to a 12)
Saint Goes Marching SP Heavy (Might be re-rated to a 13)
Rhythm and Police (K.O.G. G3 mix) SP Heavy (Definitely would be a hard 13 or 14)

IMO, Rhythm and Police (K.O.G. G3 mix) SP Heavy is waaay harder than TSUGARU simply because they have very similar charts with the exception of Rhythm and Police (K.O.G. G3 mix) being faster and having a harder run with the turns and gallops. TSUGARU is like an easy Rhythm and Police (K.O.G. G3 mix)

Oh yeah, good point on Waka Laka, I'm changing that to being hardest 8 if I haven't in a previous post. Though since in some versions, Arrabiatta gets re-rated to a 10, like in DDR PS3; Konoko no nanatsu no oiwaini still takes the cake as the hardest non-boss 9'er, that stays a 9 throughout all versions.

Just because a song is rated a 10 (or X-scale 15) doesn't make it a boss song. Boss songs are specifically those that constitute some kind of "final stage" in the game or are specifically marked, usually with red title text. Therefore, Candy*, Kakumei, Dance Dance Revolution (from Extreme), On the Break and Saber Wing are considered boss songs in the game in which they debut only. Arrabiatta is not a boss song because it has none of these distinctions. 888 wasn't a boss song until DDR II came out, and is arguably the hardest non-boss song to exist on the old scale.
I'm so Happy Challenge is probably the hardest non-boss song currently.

I think everyone has their own idea of what a boss song is. For me, it is any song that has been highlighted in red in a DDR, or any song that is currently an X-scale 15 or higher. So for me, MAXIMIZER and I'm So Happy are both boss songs.

Boss songs are highlighted in red, yes. I don't say I'm So Happy Challenge, Mei Challenge, and such as a boss songs because boss songs are usually hard at any difficulty.

disagree. It seems the new DDR series does not have more than 2 boss songs+ (for X2) Replicant-D-Action songs.
I doubt anyone should really contest this because going by rating doesn't work. See Bag and Sakura, which are not boss songs but had the highest rating on the old scale. (difficulty, it seems, has nothing to do with it.)

I would strongly disagree with Rhythm being rerated to a 14 by any means. There is no way for one to argue that R&P could compare to Paranoia Survivor in difficulty, but maybe Cartoon Heroes (if rerated). If we were to rerrate these songs, I would put R&P and Tsugaru as a 12 and Saints as 13 because saints is kinda stupid but not necessarily difficulty. R&P might be harder for other people/in general, but I got 8 greats on it last time I played it so... I dunno, maybe it is just me.

I would call RHYTHM AND POLICE a 13. It's not that fast but it is exhausting none the less.

Tsugaru is a 13 based on the weird 32nds alone.
R&P is slightly faster, and has more turns, but still is a 13.
Saints Go Marching is basically as difficult as R&P, so 13.

Ska a Go Go has a lot of double-steps, weird rhythms, and bad syncing. The Club Another version (which will probably NEVER be revived) is even worse.
SO DEEP would potentially end up as a 14 based on density alone, although I consider it very easy because it's so simple.

Tsugaru is so NOT a 13. R&P, definitely a 13, same with Saints Go Marching.

I'm still sticking with Arrabbiata.

Not really. I don't think So Deep is that bad. I can easily AA it. However, Arrabbiata is just a pain in my ass.
