And with much better range than Chun-Li's taunt.

i had no idea that morrigan could cancel shadow blade into flight! thats awesome, and it should help make the rare unsafe shadowblade safer too.

yeah, astral vision negates pushback, its just like if you call an assist in MvC2 that goes over the opponent and lands behind them (i recall seeing a guile combo with zangief anti air where the guy did this a few times). i've pulled off a few corner only combos with it, i'll have to try the shadow blade thing.

anyway, you know x-factor increases your speed right? when someone plays keep away with you, morrigan under x-factor is deadly fast. if they do, say a ground unibeam, you can do a pseudo triangle jump by super jumping then air dashing foreword instead of down. you'll be at them well before the unibeam is done. apply as necessary for different beams. i dont have to worry about it as much because i have dooms rocks, which negates projectiles so i can save x-factor for doom, but its a thought if you want to really beat dat ass. but basically you can do what you were talking about with her fast air dash in MvC2, only better.

as for this whole taunt thing you and silent are talking about...

nothing beats a knee jerk reaction to ken moving and throwing out chun's SA2 in 3S when you have no health but you zoom right into his taunt and die because you had no god damn heath then everyone in the arcade that day laughed at me

Yeah, I'm pretty sure damn-near everything Morrigan does can be canceled into Flight.

Like Hypers, X-Factor is something I always forget about until the last few seconds of a match, so I often find myself with five full Hyper Gauges and X-Factor ready to go. Even when playing against a keep-away player, it cracks me up how much chip damage Morrigan's Finishing Shower will do under X-Factor. Even moreso when you have five of them and the opponent doesn't Advance Guard every chance he gets.

Dude if you keep getting in that situation and can hold your own without meter you should learn phoenix. She is stupidly scary as a last character with 5 meters.

Yeah, I've tried Dark Phoenix briefly and her LOL EVERYTHINGS A PROJECTILE attacks, but I don't like that she's pretty much made of glass. I don't like characters that can get completely disintegrated at full life due to one mistake, because more often than I'd like to admit, I do make those mistakes.

too bad good sentinel turns everyone into that character :p

Had to add that. I fought a few teams today that apparently thought that just putting him in their team meant instant win, and tried to spam his H-attack beam.

It didn't work nearly as well as you'd think.

do a custom match search for your rank in your area, seems to be fixing the problem for some people.

Had the same problem. For a time, it actually seemed like alternating between the two was fixing it, but that didn't last too long.

just in case anyone is having a hard time against phoenix, viper's focus attack and EX thunder knuckle work great there. FA->M H S SJ M M H hard burning kick->burst time does 480,000 damage, plenty to kill a full 450,000 point health (dark) phoenix. if she is air borne, EX thunder knuckle sets up the exact same combo Smile

i would guess any other character can pull off a similar combo considering everyone has the same chains and similar damage on supers. everyone doesnt have the focus attack or an invul loaded move like EX thunder knuckle though.

P.S. - with lvl3 x-factor against sentinel this same combo does roughly 900,000. a huge chunk of life for the big annoyance.

edit- if viper happens to be sitting on 5 meters and has lvl3 x-factor vs sentinel, she can FA->M H S SJ->M M H EX burning kick M H S SJ->M M H EX burning kick->Full Throttle. tested originally against wolverine, the combo actually works on anyone, but tested against sentinel with lvl3 x-factor it does 1,961,800. it FAR exceeds sentinels 1,300,000 health Smile

on the other hand, for 3 meters you can do lvl3 x-factor FA->M H S SJ->M M H EX burning kick M H S SJ->M M H EX burning kick->burst time, which does 1,480,000. still kills sentinel and if it isnt the opponents last character, leaves you with 2 more meters.

even easier, still only 3 meters, FA->M H S SJ->M M H hard burning kick->Full Throttle. 1,427,400.

all these combos still do over 1,000,000 even on lvl1 x-factor too, which i personally find to be highly practical. given how much of a beast a sentinel can be, its really good to know what your character can do.

i found similar combos as morrigan, too. also, zukin-man, that mid-screen L M H c.H S SJ->M M H shadow blade->flight->M H->shadow blade under astral vision does about 380,000 without x-factor and does indeed work.

I'm at 82% for the trophy list. All that's left for me are the last two mission mode achievements, beating arcade mode on Very Hard, and the crossover counter/finishers.

88.8% is the magic number for the mission mode trophy, I'm closing in on it at 69%.

I got that cute corpse title that zukin wanted.

Ugh. I love this game so much that I don't know what to do with myself.

My competitive ranking team is currently Felicia, Trish, Morrigan, but I think I might experiment with replacing Felicia at some point. I dunno. I'll pick just about anyone for player's matches. Except for Sentinel. I know people like to win or some shit but ugh, that thing is just so big, clunky and un-fun. Fuck that hot mess. Oh yeah, I don't even like playing as Magneto that much for that matter. Go figure. Oh, but I do like Storm a lot more in this game than in the past. Go figure that too.

I can't wait for all the other costume DLC that I hope will be coming after the announced batch drops on Tuesday. I know there's a lot of people bitching and complaining about having to get a job and paying for this stuff, but I don't care. Capcom can nickle and dime me all over my filthy whore face. They can do with me as they please.

Dude, I am so tired I've been up since 9 pm and it's 3 pm now. Wee! lol Puppy Face
