Funny, the press release says it's being held at GameWorks locations across the country. There's a problem with that. New York City (or State, for that matter) doesn't have a GameWorks whatsoever, so the organizers better find a place with a DDR SuperNOVA machine to hold this tournament.

It's probably going to be at either Toys R Us or Dave and Buster's. They would still have to do some seriously xxxHARDxCORERxxx maintenance on the pads at either location, though, and fix the broken select button on the SN1 at Toys R Us if they're having it there.

I heard only about 22 people showed up, but registration was only opened four days prior to the event, so maybe we'll see more in the coming events.

D&B, IIRC, has a SN2. But you're right, though, serious maintenance is needed on both machines, especially the D&B one.

They could hold it at Mars, haha. UNDERGROUND, YO. Those pads are pretty decent but it's pretty damn cramped in there. They should just hold it at the top of the Ticket steps in Times Square with huge speakers or something, lol.

Mars still exists??? Funny, I thought it closed, along with Lazer Park and Barcode.

Damn, I hope it's not closed. I passed most of my 10s there. Good times.

Apparently, they decided to move the NY qualifier across the Hudson River, to East Hanover. It's now scheduled for 21 November at the Funplex.


...never heard of the place.

Either way, I won't make it. It's too far for me and I have no car, not even to borrow.

The Funplex is a chain of two locations that is very similar to a Gameworks, just more geared toward kids and less food. The East Hanover location is kinda sucky but oh well.

I'm surprised that not many people are talking about this here.. I guess it only appeals to competitive players which doesn't seem to be anyone from ziv lol

There are plenty of competitive players that lived close to the Florida Game Works and didn't go.
It wasn't appealing.
