Yeah so last night I went over my friend's house. We played Rock Band 1 & 2. Guitar Hero is a joke compared to Rock Band!
How so?
Rock Band is cooler because of the design layout, and much better songs than Guitar Hero. More songs too, at that. If you're singing, the words are so much easier to read and the drums are easier as well. It's kinda easier to see if you actually see them compared.
Perhaps, but the drum kit is still lame compared to World Tour...and uh...oh I don't know...DRUMMANIA!
Unfortunately Harmonix needs to follow suit and take up a "No Covers" policy...(my precious Tom Sawyer!

lol how off topic we are...
Anyways, IMO GH:WT for me would be a good choice, i mean the songs in the game i actually like better than RB1 or RB2, and also i did notice that SOME songs from RB2 could be put into GH:WT, that or it's the opposite way. Cuz i remember playing B.Y.O.B on RB2, and i know it wasn't in the initial song list for RB2, so it must have been a DLC.
I just think that both games have their good side and bad side, RB's drum kit is bleh, but GH:WT drum kit looks alot like a drum kit, the song list for GH:WT is small compared to RB2, but i like more of the songs in GH:WT than RB2. It really depends on your taste of the music in the games.
So speaking of 2009, What is there to look forward to in 2009?
My older bro is looking forward to Gran Turismo 5, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, ummmm and something else.
As for me? I am looking forward to DDR X AC in the US, the next DDR game (hopefully for the PS3), Scratch: The Ultimate DJ (yea i know, but hey, i want to give it a shot), and ummm...Starcraft II

They also released a pack with the original Tom Sawyer. I'm not sure though as I don't have the game or clearly remember.
To add onto DDRMAN's post:
A member dying on Guitar Hero means the whole band dies. So that means everybody has to play in a difficulty they're comfortable with. Rock Band allows you to save a member and has a no Fail feature for parties. I spent New Years at a party and they had Rock Band 2. No one knew how to play the game except for me and some other person there so I stuck with vocals while everybody else was having fun, jamming to songs they're familiar with. Rock Band is more of a party game so it's awesome to have around when there are people new to the game. Guitar Hero not so much as they cater to those that want difficulty out of their songs.
Also, Kids In America FTW

Ask me again on December 31.
