Reading this conversation with personal experiences & Several POV's on how to look at this thread, I don't have much to put that would maybe not upset both party's instead of please both due to lack of correct words. I want to say the following though which I hope is a fair POV where it isn't super devils advocate. A lot of people seem to not like that part of me, but it is at times what help's me improve now a day's instead of using it to prove someone's point wrong.

As someone who at times feels unwelcomed due to mental health & is trying to do good even though I have not been banned anywhere yet (although struck once in the NotITG Server), due to different way's of showing commitment to improving as a person where a few people see me a bit better. I think its possible even with different experiences, although tbh my judgement of a good character is really poor, we might have problems with our self's that are at least simuler darkanine.

That being said, a problem I know we both have based on this thread is moving on. I love my hobby-based past & old friends who are now not as friendly with me in some level. I need to move on from those things & some people so mentally I feel better. Feeling like people owe me some type of recognition for improving with background of being spoiled by family, is something I am having a hard time with to this day trying to work on with myself. You will find new things & friends that care about you, even here in the place you have been the whole time from the sounds of it, & that's all ready to be proven correct with the people joining! Harder said then done though, & I hope we can both work on our self's regardless of what others will think of us.

As a ITG main not active in any DDR based circles really outside of locally, & due to the insane amount of ITG charting things happening right now, I have no plans to interact with this thread further. No biases I can think of as of typing this or context that I really care about, just busy is all. I hope even if your contest ends up badly, you learn from it & am able to make something different & better out of it! Got to start somewhere. Still think the naming should remove the word summer entirely, but I saw you tried changing the name anyways & I don't really have strong feelings with this considering I am not active in these circles.

Hope this gets you on the right track from a voice that I hope your able to hear.

Thank you for sharing all of that! I feel that I have already found welcoming communities involved with DDR and my other hobbies, so maybe it is time I start something new on ZIv and I am hoping it goes well.

I am glad some people can see this contest for what it truly is, which is to breathe life back into ZIv, where all are welcome.

I'll say this here, and you can decide how much you believe me considering my uncertainty on whether I will be able to participate in this contest.

When I saw these two sentences:


there was a small part of my mind that said "you know what? I can't help but honestly root for darkanine to prove forced wrong, and to prove that, at the end of the day, this contest, despite what happened so far, can have a positive impact on the simfile community as a whole."

I know firsthand that despite the actions that led to you not being on the Discord server anymore (and even considering that some of them had a direct impact on me), that you're a person that's truly capable of having a positive impact on people. Your decision to feature your own original music in Summer Contest 2021 inspired me to do the same for most of my contest career. When you offered to have me as a contest co-host for a few contests, the experience helped me become a more confident person with more of a "I can do this" mindset (a good thing not just here, but life in general).

I mentioned this in our DMs before, but making this contest the best contest it can be is what I am encouraging you to focus on. That's all that not just I, but clearly multiple people in this thread as well, want to see here.

Also y'know what, screw it. As much as I don't know how free I'll be, go ahead and put my name on the participant list. I might submit a file or two, we'll see if things happen and if so, what happens. It's been six months since I made a simfile though, so expect some rustiness if I do end up with something 😅
