Okay, that was needlessly quick.

Unfortunately, I don't have a VPN in order to download the app, so I'll just let those who do test the game for themselves.
Will report back later with more game info.

I found the apk, but as I understand, the game is region locked because it needs location permission.

Oh, wait. It's only open for pre-registration right now.

As far as I'm concerned, the servers don't seem to be ready yet, so if you already downloaded the app, it will just show an error notification.

The website now has the songlist for both the game and the music player.

Purple songs are the songs that are playable outside of the subscription.

I got my hands on it, and after playing a few songs I can say: it surprisingly runs very smoothly?
But the controls... They're really small. like impossible on a phone screen. Needless to say thumbs is not the route to go and its impossible to play higher difficulties
There's no way i'm plugging in a controller to a phone to make it work but, it's a start I suppose?

After playing the game for 2 hours, I began digging for info.





On Free Play, you'll get select BEGINNER and NORMAL charts available.
- Each chart costs 10 AP to play.
- You'll regain 1 AP every 2 minutes; this means that you need to wait 20 minutes before gaining enough AP to play a full chart.
- You can probably also purchase extra AP at the SHOP, or sign up for a SUBSCRIPTION to remove the AP limit.



Gameplay-wise, it's not really that complicated to play it on touch, although you could use the Assist options in case you struggle hitting the chords.
- Unlike the arcade games, IIDX UM displays EX Score all the time.
- HI-SPEED follows the Rootage system (HS1 to HS10). Floating Hi-Speed doesn't seem to exist here.
- HIDDEN, SUDDEN, and LIFT can be adjusted by dragging them up or down.

For reaching 40,000 pre-registered users, the reward of 3 new in-house songs will be added to all 3 UM games on December 23.

The strange thing I noticed is that fact that the DanceDanceRevolution soundtracks aren't listed there yet... probably because the soundtracks of 1st to EXTREME and A are not published by KONAMI themselves, and they would have to get additional licensing from both EMI Music and EXIT TUNES to include them in the app.

You can listen to the DanceDanceRevolution soundtrack with DanceDanceRevolution UM.
IIDX UM and SOUND VOLTEX UM cannot listen.

That was an unexpected launch.

So I have a question. Since I am in the USA and I don’t think there is any word about these coming out internationally how do I go about playing it? I know this is a noobish question and I apologize for that but thanks in advance! I have an android tablet so I might play on that while I wait for it to come out on iOS.

It has a decent song list. Sadly almost everything I want to play requires a subscription. I really want to save my money for DDR if I have to subscribe to something.

It's a bit finicky to play, easier if you use landscape mode but it's fun as a little time waster. Don't think I'll invest in the subscription at this time, however.

Argh, it uses OST versions of tracks instead of game versions. Playing .59 for example or ANOTHER difficulty with different sounding will give mixed feelings.

How do I get it to download? Can’t find what to hit.... when I’ve tried other places/websites it just says unavailable in my region.

It's definitely in the Japanese AppStore right now; I just checked it with my JP account.

I will say that this was a good attempt at bringing IIDX to mobile devices, all limitations considered. From what I've read around, Japanese people are taking a liking to it and many have likely already purchased the ULTIMATE SERVICE on Day 1. It already has over 130 five-star reviews in the AppStore, with the majority of reviews being positive. I see beatmaniaIIDX ULTIMATE MOBILE as a good reference tool for charts and a BEMANI music player above all else.
