ah, the translator misread, shame on me for using Google translate lmao
still, the game itself will still be available in western markets, hopefully the cabs should make their way here too at least
also having DDR for mobile would've sounded dissapointing if they didn't announce there'd be a plastic pads with Bluetooth connectivity, but it seems like the closest we can get to an more home console release at least

I don't see anything in that article that mentions the cabs themselves will be in limited supply. There's a paragraph that mentions that Konami has a campaign going at JAEPO where you take a pic of the cab, post it to social media with the hashtag #黄金のDDR and you can get a special sticker as a prize. It mentions the stickers are in limited supply.

Unless I missed it somewhere.

Well, at least now we're gonna get the new DDR mix the same day the Japanese does... I hope/assume! Maybe we'll even get Dancerush's method of having multiple languages, too, to cut down on release date gaps.

Part of me thinks we're gonna get the new cabs, but only for the newer Round1 locations; the older/smaller locations like MoVal seem to get the shaft on new stuff like that (hell, we don't even have PIU XX yet, or any of the newer pinball tables the newer locations have, like Iron Maiden. >>).

Where you at, Remywiki?! XD

i don't be like to be a pesimist but it sad continue seeing DDR gameplays instead of playing in consoles. And I not quite sure that mobiles can make enjoyable.
Good for the people who can play DDR in AC but the rest?

Console releases haven't been a thing for a long time. Looking on wiki, the last console releases were back in like 2011 / 2012.

Even so, not much point in console releases when you can just buy a USB pad and hook it up to Stepmania and have access to infinitely more content than a console release.

Stepmania will never been how DDR in console, it can't make an original SUPERNOVA or X as in console or as arcade. It's not the same.
Stepmania is far from being like the original games.

Oh boy, a wonderful-looking cab that I'll probably never play on because it'll probably be JP-exclusive! Big Grin

My local R1 techs have been super vocal with the fact that we're getting some of these in select locations in the US.

Yeah, Stepmania isn't official, but it has so much more content than any of the console releases. I get where you're coming from; I played official console Pump (the entire 1 release it had) for years, but honestly, I'd take "800+ songs in Stepmania" over "official version with only 70 or 80 songs" any day.

And with my luck, the local R1 is not going to be one of those "select locations".

Though...there's only one Ace machine, and the other DDR machine is a horrible first-gen JP cab upgraded to DDR X, which nobody ever plays because it's a piece of shit with horrible pads. So who knows, maybe we'll get a second "good" DDR cab, since every other rhythm game has at least 2 new-ish machines, but DDR only has 1.

What is "the rest" ? The UI? There are plenty of stepmania UI mods to make it look like official mixes.

The rest...

DDR cs doesn't use BG videos like stepmania.
The characters from CS don't dance like characters in Stepmania.
SM doesn't have games mode (Master Mode, Diet Mode)
It's not the same the announcer in SM and DDR cs
In Wii there another games mode which SM can't do it until now.
The SM themes come to be the approximate to the original but it is not the same.

All of these can be imported into Stepmania.

And okay, I guess if you really value those random minigames and meme game modes more than more content(songs), more power to you.

While I am definitely in the same boat of loving CS releases Stepmania is highly customizable. Never been able to figure out unlocks and that kind of thing though. Just put dancer videos in random movies and there you go.

To be fair, the UI for every xbox game up until uni3 really does not stand the test of time

Also, challenge modes and "meme" modes keep this game fresh and give you a sense of progress. So yeah, they're more fun then stepmania.

Even if the cabinet does come outside of Asia, I'm expecting it to be even HARDER to find than a DDRA cabinet. Like, "less of them existing than Nintendo World Championships cartridges" hard to find.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.
