I like how someone so much as mentions being more impressed by no-bar use and people attack them. What is this, 2000 all over again?

This, my friends, is your abused quote of the day (No offense, i am not trying to attack anyone). Regardless of whether the bar was used or not, it's still impressive given the pure difficulty of itPost #7964 · Posted at 2011-08-14 12:49:27am 14 years ago

I think that my main gripe with the bar is that it creates a level of fake difficulty where hard songs could barely be done without it.

I do agree that the bar gives the illusion that it makes the more difficult songs look easier. Sometimes you have to, sometimes you don't. It's a matter of choice and opinion. I won't attack someone because they use the bar, UNLESS it's for a really easy song, then i would say something (unless they are a beginner, then i might give them some lee-way out of the kindness of my heart)

He is amazing. Plus he actually doesn't play flat-footed. So motivational for me because I can't flat-foot at all and I know it's possible on harder music. XD

I hope this doesn't turn into a bar argument :{
Obsession Oni is just a very fun chart, with a very unique mechanic (the jump sections). Learning and perfecting method of moving across the pads during the jump sections takes a long time, but feels great, and looks amazing when you can actually pull it off. What I meant to covey is that if you think that video looks amazing, then your jaw will hit the floor when you see that section played unassisted.

Exactly what I wanted to convey myself; sure it's impressive he did it with the bar but doing it without the bar is even crazier and something I'd probably show a little more interest in. I suppose it just boils down simply to the way you play and feel, if you use the bar then do it and if you don't then don't. As for the second video, yeah, it took him more tries to beat it without the bar but I could probably sum how I feel like this: Beating it with the bar in one go is impressive and something to be excited for but training up your control, speed, stamina, and movement abilites to do such without the bar and improve every play till you finally reach your goal and pass it just seems to be a bigger and more amped up pay off to me. Your mileage may vary but that's how I feel and in no way intend to offend since it's 2011, not 2000. XP

Is POSSESSION D-
really harder than Valkyrie dimension S-
?
The world record for POSSESSION is a 950k (barely an AA) while the world record for VD is only ~928k.

The reason POSSESSION D-
's record is higher than Valkyrie dimension S-
's record is because most of the beginning of POSSESSION D-
is easier than the ending, while Valkyrie dimension S-
has the 480 BPM 8th stream that's really difficult to time if you want to be able to time the rest of the song.

Would that be why VD D-
has a higher record than VD S-
? IIRC VD D-
lacks the 480 bpm 8th stream and a few of the crossovers in the last 185 bpm section.
(Also, I'm pretty sure VD S-
is the *only* song left on an official game that has not been AA'd yet. Also I think there are very few songs that haven't been AAA'd yet.)

Thanks, a lot of those score help my eamuse records list. You might want to check Pluto The First Expert Double, though (and so should I, actually). I don't remember the details but on August 5th I updated the list so the score on Pluto The First Expert Double was 998,010 by NANAKA (I believe that was the name listed). The score I had before that matched what you have up there.

X2 songs aren't on the website yet. You can edit songs from X and before. I'm too lazy to find the link though. :\One of my local gamecentre , TimeZone now has X2 ARC USA, status Lv 2.

http://ddredit.konamionline.com it only supports a partial list of songs from Extreme, SuperNOVA, SuperNOVA2 and X. I'm working on a Stepmania->DAT file converter.

@Daiz, would it be possible for users to switch the region for the DAT? I personally want to play my edits on an Asian X or X2 machine.

I have a question on the Global Recod list. Is 5 1 3 Dr.D's friend? It makes a lot of sense since, I guess, he's one fo the few players left playing hard songs that can read 1x easily.

@mageman : Actually you can't. There is a thread about the ddr edits for the arcade (can't link it, i'm on the phone). I need to post in it because i made 3 new charts.
Also had to post something about a bug in the web editor (and maybe some tips because shit can happend).
@daiz : I hope you'll find a way but i don't hold my breath for it (nobody did it for now so it might be really hard).
I know VD (expert) is really hard but i'm surprised that nobody pfc'd it yet.
