While it feels like an extremely long shot, Over the "Period" being announced would make my day (or week). Not banking on a single thing happening though.

(While I'm dreaming, it would be hilariously evil if the KAC champion and/or top finalists were the first to play it and everyone could see their live reactions.)

I totally forgot a possible Over the "Period" chart, hahaha. It would be super interesting to see what kind of a challenge chart Konami comes up with, provided it's not just a shock chart.

It seems unlikely at this point that they would release an OTP challenge chart. With them making literally EVERY song available soon indicates (to me at least) that a new update is gonna be coming soon. Probably at KAC after Kind Lady is removed. That's my guess

Yeah i know considering all the last thing that happens with this game, but is the most "logical" situation: For example, the past KAC Bemani shows us Chrono Driver -PENDULUMs- to IIDX, the medleys for RB and SDVX, the DD Ultimates for GITADORA and Everlasting message for SDVX. With DDR unlocking all this content maybe this is the oportunity to show new stuff (over the "period" or a new set of songs, including Surrender).

Otherwise, we might see a dark future to this game (don't worry, im not gonna say DDR is dead, but imagine this game suffers a looong comma)

When was the last time DDR got something during the KAC, though? The last time I can remember is X3 getting Revolutionary Addict and Go for the Top.

* All games will be conducted in VERSUS mode basically.

* Players ranked higher in preliminaries can choose play side.
* Input "0573" in SELECT STYLE in normal play, then scores will be calculated as EX score and not SN2 score.

What benefits are there to playing with the EX scoring system over the SN2 system?

It's a much simpler scoring system. Mostly because reading thousands is easier than millions.

For me, I just look at the last 2 or 3 digits in order to see if I got a good score. If I see 95 or higher, I got a Double-A. Simple as that.

Well, whatever works for you. I'm just used to EXScore from when I used to play IIDX.

It's also more geared towards accuracy, MA in particular. Marvelous's count as 3 points, Perfect's count as 2, Greats as 1, every O.K. is either 2 or 3 (not sure which), everything else is 0. Let's say that P1 gets 257 Marvelous, 31 Perfect, 2 Great, and 3 misses and P2 gets 220 Marvelous, 73 Perfect, 0 Greats, and 0 misses (in other words, P2 PFC'd the song)
P1 would score 835 points, P2 would score 806 points.
In the SN2 during system, P2 would've won.
So in EX scoring situations, MA is weighted more.

I really hope they'll announce a new DDR. And by "new DDR" I mean, something like a reboot, but keeping the old songs. It's been 7 (almost 8) years since the current announcers made their debut in the series and 5/6 since they redesigned the characters (and 2/3 years since they removed the last Zukin and Concent, plus Pix, but I doubt anyone cares about this)

If that's not the case, I'd be satisfied if they announce some songs from copula.
