If you want to play on an unlocked X machine, move to Japan.

That seems to be their general idea ain't it? Truth be told, the only real thing I'd want to do is be able to play Super Samurai with speed modifiers, along with a couple other unlocks.

well i finally got to try out the new DDR X machine at Gameworks in Minneapolis which is an hour and a half from where i live. I can say i am NOT dissapointed!!! yes, there is lag, but for some reason i played it well. I project my stepmania on to my tv using this gigaware thing so i think the lag from that translated to me doing well on DDR X. Another thing i noticed (sorry if this has been covered, i didnt want to go throug 300 pages -.- ) it is much easier to play then SuperNova, which is all we got since Supernova2 never got released around where i am. The timing windows are very large, i full combo'd songs but they weren't that great, i had no idea that the grading system had been changed because i haven't bought ddr x ps2 yet. i got a ton of scores from 840000,to like 810000 that i thought were "A"s but were "B"s. i still have no complaints other then the pad....its pretty bad, i can see why they made it the way it is. It might look like it was horribly made, but i didnt trip or get caught on the pad like on a SuperNova or older machine. It was a little farther indented but not too bad but the pad sensitivity is definitely bad, i can never hit freeze arrows...but other than that i did suprisingly well, i usually play all the hardest songs at home and pass and i dont pass them in the arcade, but i passed FAXX, Felm, Max300smmm oni and psm and psmo with B's.....its not great, but im not good at ddr yet. so with some improvements to the pad, i'd say its good because with all the HDTV's now we all have to expierence lag, so the machine would actually help since its pretty similar.

I sifted this out your big wall of text to point out how false this is, if you live in the US then arcade owners can potentially get SN2.
What you mean is that no one has cared to get SN2 around where you live.
Also SN2 started the change where you need 90% for an A on Expert.

Would you like to buy a linebreak?
Or is your enter key just broken?

The DDR X cabs in my country are ALL in bad condition.
One at Mall Artha Gading has troubles with the monitor.
Another one at Grand Indonesia has some problems with the pads.

By the way, I have discovered something.
During the selection of "Starter", "Standard", etc. section, player 1 side provided the credit , player 2 side activated the "Trial" mode, on first stage, player 1 side failed his performance, and player 2 side passed his performance, the result will be the performance status of player 1 side in the absence of player 2 side.

But the P2 can only play for 1 stage... am I correct?

egc: You were probably tripping on the older arcade pads because you're used to home version pads. I'm used to arcade-style so home pads mess me up.
Oh, and the letter grades are also based on your difficulty level. Check the table near the bottom of this page for details.

you're an idiot, and here's why: all music games have an option to calibrate the audio latency. most newer ones have an option to calibrate video latency. even arcade versions get this, like GHAC. if you're just going to "experience" lag you're an idiot. even the timing-windowless GH and RB games are impossible to play with lag and thats just hit/miss. the first time i played DDR on my HDTV i was quite pissed with the number of greats i got(on home versions i average low SDGs and AAAs, i was having trouble AAing) so i calibrated. everyone is encouraged to do the same.

With my TV, I just picked "Game" mode in the settings and my rhythm games work fine.
