I'm kinda glad they're removing Kind Lady because it's overused.

I never understand the rage from people who don't have access to DDR 2014 about songs being removed that are on many of the home versions that we do actually have access to. Things get removed, who knows why, maybe they'll come back, etc.

Aw, drat. Kind Lady was one of my favorite CS Crossovers from the earlier DDR games, and generally one of my favorite Sota Fujimori tracks. It's kind of sad to see it go. Considering how many songs are already in DDR, I doubt this is for saving room, especially since it's just 1 song; probably a case of the singer's recording itself being copyrighted, just like with 'Do It Right'. Like already mentioned, it couldn't be a problem with Jonathan Medley because he still has another track in the game (albiet a cruddy one) and because Kind Lady wasn't removed in DDRX alongside Do It Right.
...or Konami could end up pulling a 'screw you guys' and they're purposely removing this because they were too upset about all the backlash they last night

Some some are removed so they can encouraged players to play the newer ones. What would be the point of removing Tp-rz then on IIDX even though there is not copyright stuff or anything

It's bad enough that Kojima was barred from accepting his award at last night's VGAs because of some stupid legal issues, but now they randomly deciding to remove a Konami original.
I swear, I'm losing patience and respect with Konami really, really fast.

My hunch is, instead of going the Dynamite Rave route with new lyrics, Konami just decided to can the song entirely.

I still miss the other DYNAMITE RAVE remixes that got axed back in 2006 that never got a revival.

Go for the top, christmas version lol!

I prefer Thank You Merry Christmas to the Go For The Top Christmas version. Why remix an existing non-Christmas song as a Christmas one instead of making a new original Christmas song, anyway?

(Regarding Kind Lady)
Seriously, this is not worth getting in a huff over, not at all. Consider that we haven't had a major purge of Konami Originals since DDR X, a whopping 6 years ago (I'm counting DYNAMITE RAVE's remixes for us non-Asia players as part of X). That KONAMI can still keep a hold on the vast majority of the original library, which consists of so many artists, that have left and flat out joined rivals, and collaborators, that have moved on or aren't necessarily easy to negotiate with, is an amazing thing. Pump it Up hasn't been so lucky; their latest mix axed dozens of originals. IIDX hemorrhages originals with each mix. REFLEC BEAT has been gradually losing originals. DDR is just about as stable as GITADORA and pop'n music (which recently lost 1 original) in terms of original back catalog now.

they're getting rid of kind lady, this is obviously the sign that konami sucks when making DDR and not the past two years or anything
we lost dynamite rave (down bird sota mix) and dynamite rave (B4ZA-or-whatever mix) and no one got pissy about that

Kojima is a millionaire former executive and he can do whatever he wants. Yes, he does have a "no more taking sole personal credit for MGS" restriction placed on him, but he negotiated his own exit terms. He could've got out of it for one awards show or Konami could've sent someone else. Attending that show would've taken at least 2 of his personal days away from him. I think he skipped it like church on Sunday and then threw Konami under the bus. He's either very busy right now, or on vacation right now. Either way fuck getting on that plane lol.
Sort of related, about Kind Lady, I don't think it's legal issues. That makes no sense because Konami owns the entire song outright. (Any songs they own less than 100% of don't appear on the OSTs.) The last time a KO was cut from DDR (which was X2) it was because the staff didn't like the song. Naoki replaced Dynamite Rave and a few others, Sota replaced Look to the Sky with The Sky's The Limit, and U1 cut On the Jazz and Midnite Blaze because he's apparently embarrassed by them or something. So that's probably it. It could also be that the singer (who doesn't want to be associated with Bemani?) requested that her song be removed. If that's the case then Konami wouldn't have to comply, but it would be nice of them to. (Just like Strictly Business in 2nd Mix.)
EDIT: and End of the Century was cut from X1 USA / X2 JP because public domain music looks really cheap. If V weren't so famous and good it would be gone too.

Well, Konami does occasionally put songs they own "less than 100% of" on the CD OSTs... when this occurs and they release a digital version of the OST, it becomes a "selection" and said songs don't get "selected"
But I think in general you're on the right track.

Where are you getting any of this information? Can you source this? All of this seems wrong to me.

I was about to say the same thing. From what the general beef is, Dynamite Rave and End Of The Century were removed due to some kind of copyright or whatnot with the rapper.

Not the rapper. It is argie phine who provided her vocals for both of the songs, that is the reason as feeling of love also has vocals by argie phine, was removed too. Yes Paula Terry also provided vocals for end of the century and dynamite Rave. But no the reason for its removal either.

Gotcha. Thinking now, that makes more sense than the rapper, because I swear there are tons of other Konami Originals that he's been rappin' in that are still playable.
