Codes will get flowing soon. Once EU get the first shipment of cabinets I can begin to chase them up.
Well I hope England get X2 soon. I went to Skegness just the other day (usually one of the first places in the country to get new mixes), and they didn't have it, so we'll see.

Anyone checked out the X2 at DisneyQuest recently? I'm honestly considering an annual pass, working pads would seal the deal.
You should ask if you live close by to be guided into the arcade to check it out and see if the cab is decent at most.
It'd be horrible if you got the annual pass and wouldn't get good play.

Well I wouldn't JUST play X2, but it would definitely be important. Do you think they'd let me take a look if I went on a non-busy day?

I thought I'd share my experience and thoughts on the betson cabs in America. I had the opportunity to play on one before I left and I thought I'd take it. I thought it'd be good to give my opinion since I have played on a japanese upgrade and japanese dedicab before.
Anyways, I'll go ahead and agree that the pads are crap. Probably the pads are single defining reason that this can not be enjoyed. Now with the other problem I frequently hear I have a somewhat split opinion. Most people say that the sync and/or HD lag is a big factor. I will go ahead and agree that for me the lag that is experienced makes it harder for me to score. However, that lag I feel on the screen feels exactly the same as the lag I have experienced on a japanese dedicab. With pad crap aside, the scores I got on a Betson dedicab are comparable to the scores I got on a japanese dedicab. Although I can't and it seems most others in North America/Europe can't MA or score high with the lag, plenty of players in Japan have seen to do just that. Just to give a quick example of how different an upgrade to a dedicab score can be, when I got PFCed Max 300 with 20 perfects back in 09 on an upgrade I went and played it the next day on a dedicab and got 8 greats and over 80 perfects.
It might be worth mentioning my previous experience with the lag was on a DDR X and not X2. It is possible they have fixed the sync since then. Who knows. Anyways, thats my 2 cents.

I will add to Dr.D's comments on the Japanese cabinets and say that I did a lot of playing on both upgraded machines and the new god cabinets. Apparently X2's sync is a lot better than X's was. There's still a noticeable difference between an old machine and a new one. It took some getting used to but I was able set records as often on an new machine as I was an old machine. Though it was easier on the old machines.
I did some testing and found out it boiled down to individual songs and not the machines' overall sync. On an older machine running X2 I noticed that the newer a song was the more noticeable the arrows drifted from being absolutely synced. Songs like PARANOiA and TRIP MACHINE are as perfect as they can be, while Why Not and switch are also perfect but I could feel a slight shift from the center. The difference is most apparent with everything from DDR X on... when the new cabinets came into play. On a new cabinet running X2 the minute sync slide occurs in reverse. The stuff from X and X2 are bang on (when you get used to an HD screen and the new stages), whereas the older songs drift off a very slight bit. Though the change is so small that some players don't notice or just adjust their timing to match. There seemed to be a divide among Japanese players as to which type of machine is better to play on. Even though, the timing of the arrows on the stage with the arrows on the screen still feels tighter to me on an old cabinet and I preferred them when playing for AAAs. The sync issue is no longer an issue. I don't think it ever was in Japan to begin with. But some players have pointed out that Betson is using cheaper HD screens on their cabinets and so those issue were or still are very much a problem for American and European players. Either because the cheaper displays are harder to calibrate or Betson simply isn't putting much effort into calibrating them as it seems that the setting for Japanese HD cabinets aren't the same as they would have to be for English HD cabinets.

My local DnB has a Pro 2... Probably no chance of them getting a X2.

I say mine does because they currently have a SuperNOVA2, and were the first in the Dallas area to get one. They would also be the first to get an X2 if they got it now.
Most DnBs actually carry PIU anyhow.

Wow, I'm actually extremely surprised that the DnB there got an X2 and not a Fiesta. I'm out of town until August 20th, but if no one's checked it by then, I'll gladly stop by.

Is it possible to unlock If You Were Here (L.E.D.-G STYLE REMIX) by playing an edit data chart of If You Were Here? If so, is there one I can download that just have one arrow? I'm not good enough to AAA it reliably, even on Beginner.

I...am not sure :/Besides, the USA's edit system is either out of date (only has DDR X Edit Data) or has never been updated to have X2 Edit Data in it (you can do the edits online, however i am not sure if they updated it for X2 US AC). Going to have to wait until the MAX unlock code is released....which will be in 2015

Unlock codes 2-4 will be released with Half-Life 2 Episode 3. MAX unlock code will be released with HL3. Valve and Konami realized how similar their release schedules can be so they partnered up. Preorder now and get an Arrow Badge in TF2!
if you couldn't tell, I was kidding

Someone unlocked the Dazzlin' Darlin remix at the Asian X2 cab I was talking about earlier. I have no idea if they AAAed the original in any difficulty, or if it has anything to do with me saving one edit of Dazzlin' Darlin on the machine. I'll check tonight.
