How is ZERO being played without an e-amusement network?
DoLL, not ZERO

I heard DoLL when i was taking pictures of the cabinet

Oops, shows how "much" I've been playing lately lol. I thought those ddr crapcabs were US exclusive, it's pretty sad seeing how you CAN get upgrade kits over there.

By the way, if an amusement center has at least two lookalike arcade machines of DDR X and they are configured in joint session mode (Just like the "Session OK" mode in DrumMania and GuitarFreaks), can one arcade machine play in Double and the other arcade machine play in Single (Player 1 side or player 2 side)? If it is possible, I'm thinking if the life gauge of the player playing in Double went empty, the life gauge of the player playing in Single will not go empty, and they're on at least second stage, they can go on playing without worrying about the credit of the player playing in Double being wasted. For example, player playing in Double will choose "Pluto relinquish" in Challenge and player playing in Single will play the same song in Basic. Has anyone tried this already?

Playing both DDR + Jubeat is impossible, because of the height of the Jubeat machine :{
Not that I've tried this.. honest...

DDR X was interesting? That's new...

long X-mixes,
X-Specials, each with different requirements
A lot of "unique" music
A lot of newer/lesser used artists
new course types (drills, etc)
new rating system
modified extra stage system
new cabinets
just because we knew all the songs that existed because of the earlier CS release doesn't make this mix not interesting

Of varying step quality. Most of the ones from 5th mix and below were good. The ones from MAX-EXTREME were not that great.

Aside from a few songs, I really found nothing too unique about X's songs, besides the fact that a lot of them were really bad.

That were bad for the most part.
Quote: Daiz

Dance Drill courses were cool, but oni mode was scrapped which sucks.

new rating system
Unfortunately without a lot of consistency.

modified extra stage system
SN2's system was far superior.

new cabinets
This was good for Japan at least.

Those new cabinets sure are awesome (the unpatched one which take up 90% on the new ones and misfire and crap)

X improved on the DDR engine substantially. It's just a shame that Stillwind didn't realize that the Ultramix mindset of song selection doesn't translate well into the main DDR arcade series. I feel like his goal was to introduce a lot of new, unknown artists by hooking them with those "internet joke songs" like Here It Goes Again and U Can't Touch This, and then having them stay for the new stuff. Only problem is, those joke songs aren't great hooks and the unknown stuff wasn't worth staying for. I feel like the X-Specials were pretty last minute to add some much needed difficulty to this rather easy selection, but those were pretty bad.
Outside the boss songs, there's only two new 13's, and what, a single 12? I know Open and Sound of Freedom, but we're talking about AC.

I agree, but overall, I think DDRX is by far the best DDR game out there.
The new songs don't add much to the game, but there are some really strong songs, and a lot of fanservice. I've a few friends who haven't played DDR for 5-6 years see the new game, and absolutely fall in love with the songlist. It's 50% Stillwind, 50% fanservice, it seems. Remember that Stillwind's logic DID produce some really good things, but it took 3 or 4 games worth of songs, before his "new artists" policy really paid off. It only took 2 games, before we absolutely fell in love with Konami's "new artist" policy, which brought us Darwin, DMAshura, and the influx of HH.com artists.
In terms of difficulty, we didn't get anything that was truly harder than Pluto Relinquish Oni, but we got a lot of songs which "bridge the gap".
The revivals include everything from SuperNOVA and SuperNOVA 2, which were of course, pretty damn awesome. Being able to play some of the harder songs (Arabbiatta Doubles, Pluto Relinquish Doubles) on the new cabinet is an absolute pleasure, because it makes them so much more playable, instead of just being painful.
The new (western) cabinet is by far the best addition Konami have ever made to the series. It allows average players to play (and pass) the majority of songs on the machine, and it allows good players to pass 18-footers back to back, without needing to bar-rape. The only problem is that it might make the hardest songs in the game a bit "too easy", especialy on Doubles.
I think overall, it was the biggest leap we've ever seen in the DDR series. The new gameplay interface, plus the new cabinet is 2 monumental improvements. The new songlist was a little below-par, but still good enough,

^I agree.
For me: awesome game, bitch, bitch, bitching about them changing the cabinet design and pads and me having to cancel my order cause I didn't want a shody machine.

Just in case anyone's interested, I was looking through the WebEditor.
Songs from SuperNOVA and EXTREME are now available for edit creation.
The only warning I would give right now is that EXTREME doesn't have too many songs to choose from for some reason. I'm guessing it's because it hasn't been fully updated, but songs such as Frozen Ray ~for EXTREME~, V -for EXTREME-, and The legend of MAX are not available yet. It does appear, however, that all SuperNOVA songs are there.
Also, licenses are still nonexistent for all mixes (EX-X).
