This is weird, but I felt like the song was better just a TIIINY bit faster. Not for the sake of fitting in the time limit (in fact I slowed it down to somewhere between 100-110 BPM and it still fits in the 2:30 limit. It's just one of many strange quirks I have (fascination with geometric CGI, adore swell and stutter gimmicks, so on).

Damn. I didn't think my 2,000th post would be on a simfile contest thread. Or that I'd reach 2,000 posts, really. In fact I'm surprised I was let back on the site back in October 2013 after how many accounts I had that got banned. In that timespan, I've learned how to make interesting simfiles, remastered lots of DDRMAX-Extreme era movies, had some hardships on other places, and made lots of friends here. Somehow. With 15 simfiles. And it still doesn't seem like it was that long ago...

Hi.

This simfile is not gonna end well c;

...but that's okay. The Summer Contest is for experimentation (along with getting points), so here. It's my third simfile for this contest, so this is fitting.


This week was... something. The first idea I had was a very strange song that, while weird, could've worked, but... ... I didn't have it in me to make it. It was too awkward. I'm keeping it a secret in case I get the motive to make it for some other week. So then I happened to remember a 70s funk/soul song I like (Strawberry Letter 23). I thought I could actually pull something off with it... until I got turned off by the live BPM. Yeah. :/

Eventually I started thinking of They Might Be Giants, and this song is certainly a cute one that I've always liked. Since it only takes one mention of food to count, I got started. And... it's gotta be one of my most weirdest and experimental simfiles yet. is certainly very odd, there's segments that only use two arrows, only three arrows, and a special surprise for tripods. I'm not exactly sure if it's even solid. I can't know unless I try though, so here you go. Have a simfile for Food Week that has as very little to do with food as possible! c; But it counts because:

b67.750 is a footswitch, as indicated by the mines, though I'll admit it's debatable how good it fits that part of the song
The 24th notes (purple in itg, dunno about stepmania) do go to the music, it's easier to hear with the audio rate set to 0.5x
