So, to make it clearly the Japan version X2 ARC is able to unlock songs ?
While the asian version can't unlock so far ?
While the asian version can't unlock so far ?

There's a JP machine somewhere in Australia (mentioned by PumpKinetics) and another in Indonesia as mentioned by Silverhawke. Both are, IIRC, also incapable of accepting pad unlocks.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before, but Paris has an X2 machine at La Tête dans les Nuages (http://www.ltdn.com/). I went there a few times when I visited Paris the last two weeks. The pads are horrible and the game has FPS issues. And it's an upgraded X if I'm not mistaken.

Just a heads up Konami of China is technically Konami of Asia
Proof? I'm quite sure they're very, very separate.
IIRC, Konami of Asia's offices are in Hong Kong and Konami of China's offices are in Shanghai.
Konami markets DDR, IIDX and GF/DM for "China" but in reality that means Hong Kong and Taiwan only where the rules about games are more relaxed.
That's not quite right/complete. In order to put this matter to "rest":
Konami China has only:
1) jubeat "ripples"
2) GFDMXG1
IIDX 18 is testing and REFLEC BEAT should soon too, according to someone from Shanghai.
Konami HK/Taiwan(/Macau too?) has real jubeat and GFDMXG2, plus these series:
e-Amusement
DDR
GFDMV*
pop'n music
real IIDX
real REFLEC BEAT (I can only assume the mainland will get a unique build again. literally)
Not comparable at all. Good thing Baohui makes killer Pump It Up machines for the mainland, and China has their own Technika 2 network, otherwise they'd have nothing hardcore to play over there that isn't a knockoff.

When I said they market for "China", I meant that marketing comes from KoA, not KoC. On the other hand the Chinese vocal versions of the songs in X2 were produced by the Shanghai offices according to the arcade credits. Which makes PERFECT sense. >_>

Tom's World (mainland) claimed they had a DDRX in a Shanghai location, even though DDR clearly isn't available in the mainland... (they pictured a Japanese widescreen dedicab w/ LED lights). Of course this past May when I went to go find it, the workers there were clueless and the website was updated literally a day after to say there is no DDRX in Shanghai.
but I'm now pretty convinced there actually was a DDRX dedicab in Shanghai at some point, however brief that point was...
edit: well fuck me. Tom's World changed the page back http://www.tomsworld.com.cn/cn/02_products01_01_01.php?ID=2
anyone in shanghai wanna go get trolled (or strike gold)

^^ Yeah, we're better off waiting out the next game since it doesn't seem that we will be getting any updates from Konami (of Asia) for our X2 machines. And there hasn't been any new unlock codes in a while.

If anyone lives in/near/planning on visiting East TN, another X2 has arrived, and this one is in a normal arcade. :3

Hey guys!
Peter Pan Games in Queens, NY just upgraded their SuperNOVA cab to an Asian DDR X2. Yes, I'm aware we didn't get it the "right" way, but we were able to get an X2 kit from a guy in Australia.
Anyways, the build is JDX: A:B:A 2010053101, which is the initial release, therefore we can't use pads unlock
.
According to my friend, we need to persistently ask Konami of China to give us an update through USB or find someone, somewhere, that already has it.
Any help. I'll update the arcade location information on Peter Pan games.
I've tested this machine out earlier today, and can say that the pads are in excellent condition. Now, granted, I wore my worn-out sneakers today, but I had no problems with the machine as a whole. The one downside is that the place in question is a two hour train & bus ride away from me. However, it was worth the trip.Peter Pan Games in Queens, NY just upgraded their SuperNOVA cab to an Asian DDR X2. Hoo... i see.
So that means USA version machine definetely must buy in order to unlock songs.
I will tell my local gamecentre to buy the USA version machine.

I don't think that'd work out well considering the US hardware is different than the Japanese.

in an expanded sense... that question has been asked, discussed and answered before.
and cabs from US is nigh impossible due to high shipping cost. i've only seen one cab from US, that is DS SN.
and that's also why there's no ITG in Indonesia, you know.
also I don't think an arcade owner which said arcade was actually just a branch and thus all actions are controlled by the main offices would obey a single person, so meanwhile... enjoy your (newly arrived) DDR X.
on topic, I'm so happy with the local highscore feature. encourages competition

Well, i've seen Japanese version of X2, on a US SN2 cabinet. Rofl~ And none wanna play them due to the sucky pads & the sucky unadjustable screen display.
