I think even Indonesian players aren't able to unlock their machine.

I think their software version is 20101101 which includes machine best scores, 15 sec result screen,
and mode indicator on the results screen

@JhOpZzZz
Yes, that's correct. We can't unlock our machine, which I suppose because of the different default songlist than NA/EU machines.

Though sometimes it glitched and didn't overwrite some score...

@TsukiyoX: In our country. we have 3 DDR X2 machines. 2 of them are the initial release version software which is 20100531 and the last one is the updated version.

@Silverhawke: I also think that's the reason why the unlock code doesn't work on Asian cabinets.

On second thought. I wonder why KONAMI doesn't even release unlock code no. 2 for NA/EU cabinets? is it because of this issue?

@al2k4: can you rip stepcharts of the the song "bag" that was new to DDR X1 AC (remember the updated Expert and new Challenge Charts?) from X2 HDD? Even searching it in the custom simfile search here will not make me feel confident.

Someone's already did it.

Just a heads up Konami of China is technically Konami of Asia

Proof? I'm quite sure they're very, very separate.
Well seeing as their front page talks about China I pretty much assumed. I actually might be wrong about that after looking into it a bit more. There is no website independently for China (that I am able to find) so it would likely fit into the Asia territory.

Whoa Konami Asia's website changed dramatically since I last looked at it before this summer.

Still, the content of the Konami China (http://www.konami.cn/) page versus the Korea and "HK/Macau/Taiwan" pages pretty much says they're different. I was always under the impression "Konami Asia" was just HK/Macau/Taiwain and maybe Singapore, and I've never heard of e-Amusement anywhere else. (Korea is special, but Chinese machines don't even have card readers.)

edit: also console games are not illegal in Korea http://www.konami-korea.kr/goods.html

Now that i think about it, are the fixed stepcharts from DDR X1
available on the simfiles section?

I was saying console games are illegal in China - not all of Asia Tongue

Huh well look at that - I thought China was part of the Asia division but I guess I was wrong. I was also confused about e-amuse being in China as well. I heard of hackers going around and fully unlocking the games in China because there was no e-amuse but I could never really confirm if they had it or not.

Console games aren't illegal in China either...

China's even produced its own Kinect/Wii/like thing, which I can't find a link for right now.

That's a State approved device with regulated games. The Vii (Wii KIRF) is not sponsored by the Chinese government.

oh okay, I guess they haven't had a console since N64. but I'm so sure I saw the Wii in China..... maybe I confused my memories with what I saw in Korea -_-

aanyway, I wonder what's stopping Konami from actually releasing DDR in China. DSS is a god-awful game and Andamiro's really pumping it up over there, so if they don't hurry there won't be any place for them left.

Seeing Konami's interest with bringing beatmania IIDX to China leaves me to believe that DDR will probably be next as well. Konami did release jubeat in china so it doesn't shock me at all to see other games starting to make their way over there.

Sorry if this was asked or talked about before, which I'm sure has had, but what can I do with a USB on an DDR X2 Asian build?

There're USB ports and the system alway asks to put in a USB, in Japanese. Can I play edits on the machine with the initial version? Can I record high scores on it? (I'm hoping for a yes, but it's a long shot).

Please and thank you Smile

The USB's are for edits only. I don't know how you go along adding edits to the Asian version of the game though.

Oh, that I know that you change the "DDR_EDIT_J" to "DDR_EDIT_A", right? I hope I'm not asking too much, but is there a good place I could learn to set up edits for my USB drive? Do you know if a "sandisk cruzer" works for the machine? I think I'm going to make the machine really fun if I can do this...

Thanks a bunch!

For DDR X2 Asian version, you do the edits on DDR X CS JP. For licenses and other songs not found on PS2 or PS1, use DDReditMax2.

IIRC, Konami of Asia's offices are in Hong Kong and Konami of China's offices are in Shanghai.

Konami markets DDR, IIDX and GF/DM for "China" but in reality that means Hong Kong and Taiwan only where the rules about games are more relaxed.

Just a head ups to people n the EU area. Dedicated X2's will begin shipping at the end of this month, and should no issues at all. (I will try to confirm this when the first batch of machines are found)

Please pester your local arcades to buy them.
