So I couldn't help but notice the Gameworks Cincinnati location page has their X2 machine marked as fully unlocked...is that a mistake? Or did someone up there figure out something that the rest of us (and judging by their sluggishness Konami) didn't? Anybody know?

Does any one know if these sensors will work in a US X2 machine? I'm kinda sick of the Betson sensors being used now because they just crap out so easily

I would not know, maybe someone here in the forums might clear that up...Also, about that fully unlocked X2 cab in...Ohio is it? Yeah no clue how/who did it. No one's pretty much caring about the issue unless we actually get the step chart to the MAX unlock code for X2, then we will all be happeh :v
Well...only for those who live close to a good working X2 US cab that is

But we don't find many of those these days...
Jacksonville FL's X2 still has iffy pads even with switching to ITG sensors due to all the taping and such.
And that unlocked cab.... !!!! We must get confirmation because we could see songs that might only be unlocked in Japan yet not the west. (hoping for I'm So Happy to not be an exclusive for asia...)

It's still a rumor but apparently Bolt-Edge knew about it and has apparently played on said machine. Unfortunately we won't be able to get in much contact with him until next Monday or whenever he gets back from Miami's Supercon event. It's in a Gameworks in Ohio, not sure if there are any members or guests reading these forums, but if you live near said Gameworks in Ohio that has the X2 machine, it would be very greatful if you can go and take pics of the title screen (screen that says DanceDanceRevolution X2 with it's logo). And also ask the staff/technician/manager who inputted the code and whatnot to see if it is unlockable through the machine or if someone from Konami just happened to play at the machine and inputted the codes themselves or some other third thing.

Hey guys!
Peter Pan Games in Queens, NY just upgraded their SuperNOVA cab to an Asian DDR X2. Yes, I'm aware we didn't get it the "right" way, but we were able to get an X2 kit from a guy in Australia.
Anyways, the build is JDX: A:B:A 2010053101, which is the initial release, therefore we can't use pads unlock
.
According to my friend, we need to persistently ask Konami of China to give us an update through USB or find someone, somewhere, that already has it.
Any help. I'll update the arcade location information on Peter Pan games.

You, sir, are f***ing awesome. Of course the downside for me is the long ride over there (about 90 minutes via public transportation), but I will try this sometime within the week.Peter Pan Games in Queens, NY just upgraded their SuperNOVA cab to an Asian DDR X2. Looks like TsukiyoX beat me to asking about our arcade's recent upgrade kit. I personally spoke to the owner of that place and he said that he will be in contact with his source from Australia regarding updates. But I heard something about having to literally beg Konami Asia (they handle the Chinese distro) to cough over a thumbdrive with the latest patches via emails, so I dunno if it will be that trivial to get it from them.

I travel 2 hours to go to El Dorado. 90 minutes is nothing! lol
Yindesu: Whereever deals with all things Asian from Konami.

Just a heads up Konami of China is technically Konami of Asia so its not necessarily wrong.
Its the same division but obviously Konami of Asia focuses more on arcade releases as console games are illegal.

Proof? I'm quite sure they're very, very separate.

I think even Indonesian players aren't able to unlock their machine.
I think their software version is 20101101 which includes machine best scores, 15 sec result screen,
and mode indicator on the results screen

So to get X2 unlocked, the machine must be X2 original not upgraded from previous machine ?

We don't even have local high scores. Not even for courses. Sadly.
15 sec result screen, as oppose to 10? Jelly.
NeoRevenG: That's the thing. It's straight up X2. The kit, I'm guessing, was a virgin (fresh) and therefore an initial release kit. Somehow, through USB, I heard, it needs to obtain an update to get it to a build that allows the machine to be pad unlocked. Nothing else worked (unless we hack the machine)

I wish Tilt Indianapolis would find one of these kits and upgrade the USA. Like that would ever happen.

I'm sure when X3 comes out, you can find a kit and apply it to a SN cab. Granted it has good pads to play on!

A USA though? Since X2 uses different hardware (from non-X series), couldn't you upgrade any machine, even ITG?

Yes. It was a US DDR SN. I believe the owner of the arcade I go to switched out the hardware. He did it in one day, that that made me believe it's no difficult feat.
