Can we please stop arguing so much? The DDR X release in America and Europe has so far been a real mess, that much we do know. I'd rather we didn't keep getting at each others throats based upon how much we individually do or do not know, or worse, resorting to personal attacks.
I have PLAYED on one of these machines before the supposed improvement so I KNOW at least the original design has some sort of flaw which made the pads have the same sort unresponsive problem that Dancing Stage Fusion machines had with freeze arrows. Also the syncing of the game does feel 'off' slightly. Whether this means that the non-Japanese machines only had one sensor or not I don't know, but what I do know is that if the machines always had four then Konami are silly for letting nearly the same issue plague them again when they have dealt with it before.

I think Konami just need to exert better quality control and actually TEST the machines properly before distributing them. I would have thought that after ten years of designing and distributing arcade machines that Konami wouldn't be experiencing design issues now.

As that still requires players to play each song 15 times before they unlock.

Also, there are still 17 X-Specials to unlock for all players...

Hmm...Not necessarily. The Groove Radar specials were all unlocked with the MAX unlock on SN2, along with all the hidden things that could be garnered from playing with e-amuse like the extra costumes and mods.

Well you never know. They seemed to think character accessories justified a week's worth of waiting.

Cat head for Yuni. Similar to the horse head for Zero.

sorry no videos recently... My new camera has been giving me a lot of problems lately. It keeps flashing system error which results in me having to format my camera and memory stick just so it lasts long enough till the next time i have to do it again... It's getting really annoying...

Its a shame too cause I've got good videos recently that I had to erase like trigger expert AAA or me failing trigger oni in boss rush X.

Also I'm so pissed nothing was unlocked. I think there wont be anything next week either. They are pretending there's another IR and following that schedule so like last week was the start of it and this week would be costume along with next week. Thats fine and all expect the fact that we end up getting nothing for 3 weeks and no IR.

So yesterday a friend and I made way to play on the DDR X cabinet @ Shaumburg, IL Gameworks; worth the 30 or so mile trip to play for about 3 hours or so. The software still seems to be the 7/23 and I'm wondering as to when Gameworks will get the 8/4 update. We've noticed quite A LOT of technicalities present. I'm not sure if people have pointed them out, so I apologize in advance if I'm repeating a stated fallacy.

First off, there seems to be a stepcount glitch when playing the Challenge ONLY songs; such as the Nonstop Megamixes present in DDRMAX2. During gameplay, my friend let his side get all Boo's and at the end of this song his Max Combo differed from mine; keep in mind that he plays with no mods, so nothing is different aside from the speed-mod to my side. We tried likewise with the rest of the challenge songs and the same problem was presented with 5 of the Challenge-Only songs we picked from the DDRMAX 2 Folder.

Another problem we ran into seems to be, not so sure about this one, playing songs with a BPM of 120 or lower in primarily folders in folders such as Supernova 2, affect gameplay. The problem is that the scrolling arrows tend to briefly freeze, albeit on sync, and tend to throw you off a bit causing a streak of greats to accumulate. The songs we played and noticed this problem were Come Clean, Dream of Love, I'll Make Love To You, Every Day, Every Night (NM STYLE), and My Favorite Things.

Aside from these present problems in the 7/24 build, we were overall satisfied with gameplay and gradually adjusted to these "Cobalt Flux" pads. I managed to score a few FGC triple AAA's here and there as well as surviving half of Maxx Unlimited X-Special on a sight read; hopefully I can pass it with at least an A the next time. Those double-stepping slowdown parts do tend to throw you off, so be wary of those slowdowns!
