Since we're not replacing MAX 300 or Valkyrie Dimension or whatever everyone cares about now with CHEERLEADER CAT JOY JOY, I don't see any problem.
Say you've got "HARDCORE ELECTRONICS" dudes on one side and "KAWAII ANIMUU :333" on the other side, if you add "KAWAII ANIMUU :333" songs, the "HARDCORE ELECTRONICS" people will just play the "HARDCORE ELECTRONICS" songs, and the "KAWAII ANIMUU :333" people will get songs that they can enjoy, especially if they hate the "HARDCORE ELECTRONICS" songs. It's not lessening the chances of BEMANI being successful, it's doing the exact opposite; It'd bring in at least a few more people if anything.
...now should they ONLY be adding hina butter and jelly sandwiches like they are? Probably not, but these songs shouldn't be nearly as big of a deal as everyone makes them out to be, at least not until KONAMI says "hey guys only hinabitter forever k bye."

Except DDR 2014 hasn't been launched in the U.S., it was only a location test... and I'm pretty sure most of the removed songs were just for licensing issues.

I really don't understand people bitching about some new content they're not really into. If there was a limit to how many songs can be in any game, fine, I'd understand that. But it's not like you're forced to play anything just because it's there. It only becomes a problem when the only content put in the game is something no one even likes (or if it replaces stuff another stuff we want around in the game).

As for individual songs and preferences, it's all a matter of opinion. Hinabitter isn't objectively the worst thing ever. Some people just feel that nothing can be worse. While I am personally not a fan of Hinabitter stuff, I don't think it ever hurt anybody.

I don't mind if we get Hinabita or not, it's just the content cadence that's concerning to me. They haven't even announced the Vol. 2 OST, suggesting they intend to continue trickling content into the game, but don't have enough content prepared to do a new game or even UI refresh/folder change. Feels like we have a different step team doing charts now as well. DDR seems to have fallen back into dead mode.

The latest CHECK! SONGS completely forgets to mention that neko*neko was added to DDR, but remembers to point out the other 4 games it was added to.

The optimistic line is that they're focusing some kind of North American strategy or something. Hope that's true, we shall find out eventually.

I bet you haven't heard the actual beatnation version. The quality is different "even if" it has no live sound artifacts. It is even faster than the GST version.

Ever heard how a live performance sounds? That's it.

thats the problem. i dont see that way. and besides most people play on basic. the very first 2 mixes werent so hardcore. In fact it would appeal to casuals. the later mixes were known because of more tougher songs. Its seems DDR is only known for MAX 300 and Over the Period stuff. It doesnt have to be that way is what I mean.
