Since DDR X2 is pretty much complete, in Japan at least, shouldn't it be getting an official simfile section pretty soon?

I would assume so since the OST has been released but there are still some missing stepcharts. This may go in the direction that Universe 3 went. We may not a see an official category until everything is finished including graphics. That is all up to Al.

Once all the charts have been stepped out will they be compiled into a DDR X2 pack I can download like all the other official sims are, or do I have to track everyone of them down from this thread?

They will be compiled like any other sims when it's finished.

Updated Simfiles
SM files only which are compatible with DDR X2 OST audio files. Re-synced song offsets and sample starts. Steps consist of the latest updates from database with unchanged movie code tags.
The zip contains sm files from
- Disc 1 OST songs (except DDRX2 CS songs)
- Disc 3 OST songs (except Chinese songs)
Don't forget to rename the OST mp3 audio if you downloaded them from EarthPluto's link (remove numbers and/or special characters). Also, remove all ogg audio after replacing with OST mp3 audio to avoid duplicates in the ZIP when downloading.
