This is great to hear. Poor covers like Makes Me Wonder from HP2 may be a thing of the past! This makes me really excited. Oh and the music videos bit is for Wii version too obviously. I even saw one of the stage floor shots that did actually look like a portion out of a music video more than it did in a venue.

@DangerDance: Agreed. I really like Space Dance also. Just listened to it for the first time a while ago.

G4TV will have Konami's Press Conference up today or early tomorrow.

We already know it works, because it uses the exact same layout and interface as other 8-panel games, and we already know that at the hardest level, more panels equal an easier game.

As several people mentioned earlier, we don't expect this to be an integrated into the gameplay of DDR anymore than Hands, Double-tap arrows, Eyetoy gameplay, or any of the convoluted mods that they tack onto the XBox games. It's just a CS-exclusive feature, aimed at consumers who already own a DDR game, and would probably consider buying a new one based on new gameplay features, rather than new songs.

PS2 has (were assuming) Eyetoy Mode
PS3 has 8-panel and DLC
XBox has 8-panel and DLC
Wii has Hands and Balance Board Mode

All of these things worked, but none of them are ever are taken seriously as 'new features'. None of them have turned out to be 'ruining' additions to the basic gameplay, because Konami know not to mess with the basic formula of the game.

Hope the "SM4" arrows are a new type of arrow mod. Like note or the arrow option EX2 and up like "butterfly, small, emi..."
