It's one thing that the releases haven't been on a global scale as of late. It's another thing that they've outsourced development of foreign cabs starting DDR SN to another company who handed it to a firm with cheapness in mind (aka shitty pads). But now we are once again experiencing "Some machines have songs others don't." (in a timed-fashion except for the Append Festival).

They have no choice BUT to outsource it in US's case as Konami doesn't have an arcade division here.

Quite true. Quite sad too. What messes me up is how the SuperNOVA stages were fine (not as good, but decent quality and sturdy) and then the X stages were absolute garbage and haven't gotten much better. I understand if there was a mandate to go to the HD sets in the cabinets, but what stopped them from using the same stage (ala Pump it Up)?

All I know is that Konami/Betson really fucked up with their 5-week lifespan X2 sensors. And if they really don't want DDR to die in the states, they need to do something about it.

Arcades aren't happy about having to re-order 32 sensors on a regular basis, and players sure as hell aren't happy about the pads going from great to sticky/vibrate-happy shit in the same day.

[14:02:41] しお: I've talked to Yosaku (Valkyrie Dimension stepmaker) today
[14:03:08] しお: and I asked what's up with that chart
[14:03:12] しお: he said
[14:03:53] しお: actually
[14:04:17] しお: Konami throwed very first chart back he submitted because it's too hard
[14:05:23] しお: but when Yosaku himself played his chart on arcade machine
[14:06:34] しお: it turned out to be that Konami had modified his chart way harder than original
[14:07:18] しお: After they said it's too hard!

^Sta Kousin, leader of the Foonmix project

Was Yokasu playing the Challenge chart or the Expert chart?

He could have designed the Expert chart but have been looking at the Challenge chart on the machine.

He made the challenge chart only. We were just discussing the challenge chart.

You think they will attempt to care if we relay the conditions of every X2 machine in the US and show receipts and such as evidence while also taping videos to show how fast it takes for the sensors to go to crap?

Probably just hopeful thinking that will never happen. T_T

Yeah this is what I don't get. PIU has made machines that work for ages without maintenance for an affordable price. I'm sure arcade owners and players would prefer a more expensive sensor that lasted long. Forget the bells and whistles of HD display or LED lights.

Your entire post made me laugh out loud. Andamiro no longer makes pads that work out of the box, and they definitely care more about lights (TX Cabinet) than pads.

"Oh god what I have dooooone?!"
I think that obsession would come from trying to be more competitive with DDR.
They had better/same stages for years but still they don't have the audience that DDR does.

MORE LIGHTS WILL MAKE DDR PLAYERS LIKE IT.Oops

No, it doesn't.
No one can hold freezes on the left side. Not even Phil (who's pretty much made of muscle). Most All of us have given up on Nightmare and Double Performance because it's so unplayable.

Ehm. You can't really call a freeze-breaking machine "good," even if it does beat a fudged up crosswired machine.

I'm actually kinda relieved no one around here bought X2... from the videos, it seems the blasted machine breaks before a dying local arcade can pay it off.

Which is depressing and they need to not... make icky machines. :\

Smelly garbage is better than radioactive nuclear waste but you wouldn't want either, would you?

At the end of the day both games are unplayable: DDRX2 depending on the song will troll you beyond vision (all boss songs, stealth (SN2), switch (SN2), Frozen Ray are the big offenders I can remember right now). In Fiesta EX, dropping freezes for less than a second will give you a game over.

This video illustrates my point better.

If your arcade turned off failing then that's great for you. I should also point out that instant failing happens on Stages 2 and 3, not Stage 1, but that doesn't make bad brand new pads any more acceptable.
