I think what he means is the ITG machine was better (Which was made by Andamiro) and he liked the ability to have custom songs. Two things Konami won't be doing ever, let alone soon enough.

You can't deny that the ONLY reason ITG has custom songs (ok besides hacking the hard drive) is because Roxor got sued. If they hadn't, they never would have released R21. There's too many legality issues involved. Technically, every ITG machine out there with custom music whose composer/writer did not explicitly say that their music could be used on a hacked ITG machine could get sued out the arse. Not to mention people hacking ITG machines probably violates some IP laws.

I would not say that was the only reason. I would say that Roxor was trying to work that in in a legal way and because of the suit they basically dumped their whole hand on the table and said "Fuck it".

I wonder if they'll have their Extra Stage effect, where they won't fail you but will take away battery life.

I get the impression that this is mainly USA only. But for anyone in the UK I have abit of news.

We have DDRX in our arcade. I believe there is only 2 in the UK at the min? Anyway, it has just been updated directly by Konami. This has corrected all the known issues and has made it a fantastic machine. We are also one of the first to get this update as they flew over and installed it directly. everyone else is getting it in the post in a few weeks.

So if you are able to get to the midlands, it's well worth the trip.

I had heard rumors that Europe was going to be getting a different cab than the US. I guess we'll have to wait for someone to go over there to find out if its really a "fantastic" machine.

No, it's the same cab as you've got over there. I.e. crap. There are significantly more than "2 in the country" as well.

The lawsuit revolved around RoXoR's use of old KONAMI machines and putting ITG BoXoRs inside, and rebranding KONAMI's machine as RoXoR's. This is a clear violation of KONAMI's IP. ITG2 wasn't really an issue since it had a fine dedicab.

I feel like there was also something to do with RoXoR calling up arcades and explicitly labeling ITG as the next version of Dance Dance Revolution, but I may be mistaken.
