Wow, Horatio is on Challenge on the Difficult version. They haven't put any song with shock arrows in any other course, and I'm surprised they'd start with a Boss Rush.

I wonder if they'll have their Extra Stage effect, where they won't fail you but will take away battery life.
Play my game Arcana Seal of Rimsala (SNES)!

tbh i'd put that DDR X crap aside and start manufacturing ITG cabs and upgrades again. I much prefer ITG to DDR for too many reasons to list..
Konami is not going to suddenly become better at making dance games if they call the next DDR game "In The Groove 3".

I think what he means is the ITG machine was better (Which was made by Andamiro) and he liked the ability to have custom songs. Two things Konami won't be doing ever, let alone soon enough.

You can't deny that the ONLY reason ITG has custom songs (ok besides hacking the hard drive) is because Roxor got sued. If they hadn't, they never would have released R21. There's too many legality issues involved. Technically, every ITG machine out there with custom music whose composer/writer did not explicitly say that their music could be used on a hacked ITG machine could get sued out the arse. Not to mention people hacking ITG machines probably violates some IP laws.

Some. Laughing Out Loud

I would not say that was the only reason. I would say that Roxor was trying to work that in in a legal way and because of the suit they basically dumped their whole hand on the table and said "Fuck it".

The lawsuit revolved around RoXoR's use of old KONAMI machines and putting ITG BoXoRs inside, and rebranding KONAMI's machine as RoXoR's. This is a clear violation of KONAMI's IP. ITG2 wasn't really an issue since it had a fine dedicab.

Someone over at DDROC updated the DDRX location Test thread with some news about the 2 DDR X cabs in the UK (2 Hollywood Bowl locations)

Quote: hbleicester
Hey all!

I get the impression that this is mainly USA only. But for anyone in the UK I have abit of news.

We have DDRX in our arcade. I believe there is only 2 in the UK at the min? Anyway, it has just been updated directly by Konami. This has corrected all the known issues and has made it a fantastic machine. We are also one of the first to get this update as they flew over and installed it directly. everyone else is getting it in the post in a few weeks.

So if you are able to get to the midlands, it's well worth the trip.

Regards,

Adam

Not sure if it's anyone here either Roll Eyes.

Thats VERY interesting Max, i just hope that they really do roll out these fixes. And more importantly that the Arcade Operators apply them Confused, as i have regurlarly visited skegness over the past 8 years and know just how difficult it is to get the Ops do do anything or take notice of any complaints.

I had heard rumors that Europe was going to be getting a different cab than the US. I guess we'll have to wait for someone to go over there to find out if its really a "fantastic" machine.

No, it's the same cab as you've got over there. I.e. crap. There are significantly more than "2 in the country" as well.

The number he quoted is probably the number of Hollywood Bowls that's got one.

Bump: Deadline is Saturday, so to reiterate:

Ah, so he was lying when he said that that particular cab had been fixed up then?

That was the only infraction Konami's lawyers could make stick.

The touring machine in Europe is the cut-corners cab with all the deal breakers fixed. Fully updated software to fix the lag and all four sensors in place for each arrow.

I feel like there was also something to do with RoXoR calling up arcades and explicitly labeling ITG as the next version of Dance Dance Revolution, but I may be mistaken.

If this is the case, I'm sure that they said it as

Quote: Roxor, I guess in this hypothetical situation
ITG as the next version of "Dance Dance Revolution"

emphasizing that ITG will be it's successor in popularity amongst the players that play dance simulation games. I don't think they would be that reckless to say that it's the next mix after DDR.

Edit: found the words that were at the tip of my tongue. ITG as the next big thing
