I mean, he's not wrong though, the chart is pretty broken but yet, there are plenty of those chart types lingering throughout DDR however, this one is really noticeable. I can understand a small pause in the chart (windy fairy, Sakura Mirage, etc. ) but there comes a point when it gets a little much.
Again, I'm not saying the chart is bad. I'm just saying it is a tad broken and could use a little extra steps

Remain has more problems than just being understepped. The BPM for it is all over the place and hardly makes sense.

Yeah that too. I was extremely disappointed with it overall. I mean some spots were fun, but there was so much potential wasted.

sucks, is probably the stepchart I hate the most, is poorly designed and the fact that it's rated a 13 makes me sick.

I completely agree about Saturn. Runner ups are Stulti and Hyena. I saw their charts on other games and was really excited, and genuinely let down when I saw them on DDR.

awkward foot placement, off beat notes that don't make sense, chart randomly shifting into all green notes even though you are hitting 8th notes, speed changes or stops that aren't represented in the actual song. Not following patterns that feel extremely apparent is an arguable one.

some are pretty subjective though, i don't really like enforcing a standard of good charts.
but personally, Pa Pi Pu Yeah could be harder. not a bad chart, but just a tad too easy. it's not even a 13.

In general, no one said we need +17

There's a lot of misrated songs this mix that need to be adjusted [I could think of at least 6 off the top of my head without trying] but that's a topic for another time.
If Pa Pi Pu had the odd 16th pattern throughout most of the song, it would have been a 13.
Yeah, in other bemani games that are keysounded, you can hear a more prominent base line compared to DDR so they can step up the difficulty.

is the perfect example of a solid 13 chart with fun patterns. パ→ピ→プ→Yeah! is fun too, but it seems to be a solid 12 for my perspective.

I think we're arguing different things; I definitely agree PPP should be re-rated to 12, and Kaire is probably correctly rated at 13. difficulty and enjoyment are totally separate topics (and we seem to agree PPP is fun, if just rated wrong).
as for the 17+ comment, it feels like that's everyone's response all the time when an expert chart isn't as hard as they thought it should be. Posts like "so understepped imo, konami NEEDS to make a challenge chart for this. i could totally see it being a 16/17" seem like the typical response any time a new song is unlocked.
