Warnings And Bans

It seems to be like that in many other cases. People who are in the negatives seem to be judged more severely unfortunately.

That and if a user makes a few wrong moves his rating literally plummets to -100 instantly. In find it unfair to those who are just getting used to the forums.
I know certain users have more of a weight in a given rating, but sometimes I think part of the rating bash comes from forum spectators.

Would it be considered a good move to not allow a user to rate someone until he or she has X number of posts in the forums?

It's more like, people get tired of endless arguments. Really, next time you feel like posting a gigantic wall of text with pages of argument about sync or anything, just chill, and don't. Honestly, you're not someone who should be banned either, just people get trigger-happy on the negatives when useless debates drag on for pages, derailing threads, and I can understand why.

So, chill. If someone's wrong in your mind, maybe post once about it, and if they aren't willing to agree, leave it at that. People are going to take potshots at you too, whatever, just take it in stride. If you totally love debates, we have a forum for that.

I do like a good debate but only on topics I care about which aren't very many, happens more often at work and amongst fellow Engineers where it ends up being geeky always, but I honestly thought I posted sparingly... Not like a different opinion on a topic warrants a negative rating though.

Perhaps people who give -5's for no reason need to provide an explination that a moderator can take action on and offer a warning to the user, but that would probably be alot of work, these are pretty active forums. Oh well, I just didn't want to get banned, I love Z-I-V for everything that it is and just want to be a positive contributor (although admittedly opinionated) to keep this place thriving.

I was browsing through old threads the other day and saw vanity666angel's profile info. Some details match this guy's. I suspect they're the same person.

I am not going to lie. I am the same guy. This however was not a ban evasion. I was banned in the past and came back because sillybear asked me for help with simfiles via youtube on behalf of ZIv. I made a new account so that I may post the links to my DDR videos so I could help him and other members in the making of the DDR 2010 simfile category. I thought I'd just enjoy the time I may have left here and try to help the ZIv community in anyway possible upon request or if need be. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone. I meant no disrespect in creating another account.

I think you'll find that is evasion. Oh well, at least you didn't say something that was obviously bull about Pie asking you back (incidentally, who did do that, that was quite funny).

-100 isn't necessarily the end of it all. If you just got there without doing anything majorly stupid and bannable Al won't ban you.

I'm pretty sure that you're still allowed to edit posts after being banned. Assuming that you're banned, of course. Reaching the -100 mark doesn't qualify you for an instant ban. One of the admins needs to see if your rating is justified by your actions on the forums.

Please allow me to clarify. I was banned months ago and left the site alone after that. It wasn't until about three weeks ago that I came back around. I bare no hard feelings about the ban and take full responsibility for my bad behavior in the past. I am rather glad this came up sooner than later.
