Oh right, I forgot, even if Betson isn't manufacturing, they still have absolutely no clue what they're distributing.
Actually it'd be interesting if someone were to email them saying they were interested in purchasing the cabinet and asking about the LED lights, SD slots, and all that. I'd like to see what they'd say to queries relating directly to things that aren't there.
Oh yeah, that would be nice.Actually it'd be interesting if someone were to email them saying they were interested in purchasing the cabinet and asking about the LED lights, SD slots, and all that. I'd like to see what they'd say to queries relating directly to things that aren't there.
EDIT :

Whoa Betson's DDRX ?

So Shitty you'll need to classify the game under a new title.
You know... just so you know its Betson's.

Speaking of Betson...
I e-mailed Konami to see which USB drives work on the US DDR X machine (and i got my answer, but not from them). So Konami e-mails me back saying "Thanks for your input. Please contact Betson because they deal with the arcade stuff blah blah". So then i do just that, e-mail Betson and guess what? I got a response!
...lol Betson responds

Hi Julian,
Funny you should ask this question. I had just received information from Konami Japan
on this today. I have cut out their response and pasted it for you to review.
1.) 2.) What is the recommended USB card/stick for use of the “Step Chart Edit Mode”? Do you have a list of
USB brands and memory capacity? àYou can use any sort of USB Memory sticks regardless which brand and size of capacity.
I hope this answers your question.

They forgot to mention that the arcade owners also have to turn this feature on also. I think the edit data is automatically set to off also when the game ships, so if your arcade operators sort of just threw it into your arcade... Well you might be screwed.

Arcade owners hate the idea of users being able to insert data into the machine, so I can understand why it's turned off by default. A lot of arcades actually cut or unplug the USB cables, before they'll allow anyone to play the machine.
I'm pretty sure that when the japanese version shipped, Konami Japan had a massive list of which USB sticks are compatible with the machine, and which ones aren't?

It's not clear whether the list is necessary because only certain USB drives are compatible with DDRX, or because only certain USB drives are compatible with the PS2.

...i was going to post that link....
Anyways, could be, and the thing about arcade operators turning off the USB thing is also something to think about...
...let me guess, ITG made the arcade places scared of letting people hook up their USB devices onto a machine?

I don't think ITG is a very good example, because all of the problems with players creating 10-minute songs filled with swearing and fetish-related background pictures only affected arcades which willingly installed the relevant patch, knowing that it would enable this functionality.
In reality, most arcades are just scared of the idea that players are able to plug a disk drive into their machine, which can potentialy inject code into the machine, or spread viruses. It doesn't matter how secure the code is, or if these things are even possible, only that most arcade owners are scared of the thought of digital vandalism.

The more removed songs, the more more the game sucks
(depend on the new songs in the next arcade version
).
I like the old songs.
