any editor that requires the use of the mouse to insert notes is lame
There is also no way to insert triplets. Not that a song requires it yet, but still. Not that there's a point in this editor when we have the one in StepMania.

If you use a powerful PC, the edit utility is too easy to use (Flash is required). well... zoom x1: 1/4 notes. zoom x2: 1/8 notes. zoom x4: 1/16 notes. (no zoom x 3, to insert triplets 1/12th notes)

Firefox is the best option to use this utility, without a LOT of PF use (and 100% of cpu use)
--
Today, 2 DDRX dedicabs has been showed here. no pics yet (restrictions...

An editor who doesn't allow other arrows than 4th, 8th and 16th is not an real editor. it's more like to make 95% of the ddr charts...
But it's beta. Maybe the final version will include missing arrows.
I'm more concern by fixing DDRX. Cause in the area (some place in France) that i play the most, we will get DDRX too (and sell teh DDRSN). So if DDRX is not fixed (what i think) i'm in trouble...

Apparently Konami is taking blame for the DDR X cab issues. Perhaps it's not clear that the pad-response issue is seperate from the synching issue.
__________
Also, I know it's not just me. Does anybody else feel like playing Tekken 3/Tag, immediately after playing a song with the basketball court BG? I half-expect Eddy Gordo and Forest Law to be dancing characters half the time...

ok this edit program sucks. Its too choppy, I dont know how anyone could get work done on it. They should have learned from like stepmania or something how to do it, even though this is a beta.

It is pretty darn bad. To bad they didn't just publish the program that they use to make the steps at KOA like DukAmok and the step team uses.

But then you'd have a tool that you could use to make better steps than Konami makes, and they don't want that.

Lots of people has already make better stepcharts than Konami for their songs. xD

Upgrade kits will come out. They always are a few months after initial cab release.
In January at ATEI, it was confirmed to me in person by the UK sales manager that there were *no* plans to release upgrade kits in Europe. Konami Europe and Konami US are often very similar in releases (i.e. both need a nod from Konami of Japan before doing *anything*).
What makes you think this has changed (it may have done, but I've heard no indication to the contrary)?

This is what i was afraid of, there really was NEVER an indication as to whether KOA and the Europe market were EVER going to get the upgrade kits of X...
...*sigh* i just REALLY hope they do get the kits, no way am i ever setting foot on an X machine unless there is just no way the upgrade kits will come

Official and final word is "no upgrade kits".
Owners of existing machines can trade then in for a discount on a new machine from Electrocoin.

A strategy to single handedly cripple the quality of DDR machines abroad. I understand why they would not sell upgrade kits, and I agree with that, but not when the only option is to get a cabinet that has been receiving a less than favourable reception. By the way does anyone know what this supposed "pad fix" actually is? What do they change? It'd be nice to eventually have a re-issued cabinet that was as functional as previous machines, right out of the box.

yea but by that time, the next AC installment might be announced/already getting a location test or something
Basically by that time DDR X would be the "last year's" game (if you get what i am saying).

Uh...No it won't. If anything, only location tests will be going on by that time.
