Right, the way I see it is that at least two votes are bs-ed, and as both of them were exactly the same voting pattern, I'd see fit to disqualify both their results. If it was me, the change in votes means ddrstepper qualifies 10-9, Aegis qualifies 9-8.
The final decision is going to be Pandy's though.

Bumping to top.
I didn't imagine this scenario ever happening.

This is going to annoy Pandy more than the tie in the Finals last year.

I've looked up the IP addresses among the users in question on AbuseIPDB. All of the addresses were reported for suspicious activity, mainly DDoS's and hacking. In fact, I've actually made a report for two of these IP's, including for making an attempt on using a WordPress plugin vulnerability to download wp-config.php, which contains MySQL database configurations to help make a WP site run.
Seeing that these users are linked with suspicious IP addresses, I see no option other than banning them. This may seem a bit harsh, but I work with suspicious web activity almost all the time at my job. You can never be too careful.

To append this, I had the help of Oni-91; he discovered that all four users had the same user agent, but different IP's. That to me triggers my DDoS signal, and had to hop on this case.

Well, that puts ddrstepper at 9-7 vs. me, so he will advance to finals instead. He's really stepped up his game this year and it shows!

and a small "fuck you" to whoever stuffed the ballot box. I'm not too bothered being this year's Miss Colombia, but you could have really ruined someone's day...
also, I removed my files from the contest category because most of them will be available in the upcoming Vocaloid Project Pad Pack 4, so stay tuned for its release!

Jesus christ.
I know I'm late, but... wow. Whoever started rigging the votes really needs to get something fucking better to do.
Good luck to ddrstepper and Aegis, though!

Alright. Let me just start out and say that I'm just very disappointed that something that was to be a fun contest ended up like this. I would think we as a community would be above this but I guess not. What sucks is I'll have to alter some rules for SC to make sure this doesn't happen again. I've never been worried about it because I would think no one would go for the effort to rig votes on a simfile contest. I saw the thread the other night when people were wondering if there was rigged votes and I took at as an "innocent until proven guilty". Now that that's happened, the finals will be ddrstepper VS Aegis. I'm just annoyed that someone would go this far to rig votes for something like this.
I thank everyone who was a part of this and I'm sorry things started and ended as rocky as they have. I'm just in disbelief than anything.

Any words on file removal during contest for future rules? Just like it has been suggested by me and then further specified by brunobg24:

I think that removing files should be only allowed once the tournament ends.

Anyways, congrats for DDR and Aegis for making it to the finals! Even though one might lose you both are immortal in the community and in the future!

idk how to cleverly preface this so

Pumpkin Cravings / Homestuck
BPM: 61-160
- 5 |
- 7 |
- 9
1) the whole voter fraud thing was honestly a mess and i hope those involved find something better to do than rig some online simfile tournament built for the sole purpose of entertainment
2) how tf did i make it to the finals
3) yes ik the homestuck fandom is crazy but this song is actually decent i promise
4) i contemplated making the avi this but i figured that'd be too much (nsfw warning??)
5) i was gonna submit this for round 1 then round 2 then 3 and 4 and now we're here
6) hope u enjoy and good luck to aegis!!! :^)

反復回転時計 ~Running Cost~ / DJ Technorch

I made it to the finals. Thanks to everyone who believed.

So here you go. Enjoy.
See you all at SC2016.
Edit: Simfile fixed for all future downloads. Sorry about earlier.

Opening final votes.
反復回転時計 ~Running Cost~ [Aegis] - 0
Pumpkin Cravings [ddrstepper] - 1
At first I couldn't open Aegis file, had to change file names to be able to play it. Both simfiles are on par as far as steps go. Sliiiightly more I liked what ddrstepper did. Graphic wise I liked much better ddrstepper file. Thus my vote goes to him.

Same issue here. I had to swap out the Japanese characters with Roman characters and get rid of the ~'s for the song to show up in SM.

My opinion here is pretty similar to Lisek's opinion. Both files are pretty much on par with each other but I think Pumpkin Cravings is just a bit better due to song choice. But holy crap Pumpkin Cravings is not a 9! Heck I'd say it was actually harder than 反復回転時計 ~Running Cost~!

That being said, I think I enjoyed Aegis' file a little more. Partly because Pumpkin Cravings was a bit offsync (had to change offset from -0.743 to -0.763), partly because Aegis's rhythm choices were a little more consistent. Plus the double jumps in the middle of 8th streams, was a bit annoying to me (i.e. Measures 34, 67 and 70). I agree with Gameoson that Pumpkin Cravings was harder than 反復回転時計 ~Running Cost~. Otherwise, both

Good luck to both of you! It was a great contest. I look forward to seeing what you and everyone else puts out during Summer Contest!

Interesting. Tested it on Linux and Mac/ downloaded it on both. Worked fine. Should be a Windows thing.
I'll keep that in mind for next time if I do a simfile with Asian-type characters. Sorry about that. Also I'm currently at work so I can't change the simfile to have that edited.
~Learning something new everyday~
Append: Reuploaded the simfile with names changed. Should work fine now.

You can still have both the original title and the romanized title inside the .sm/.ssc files themselves (assuming the files are encoded in UTF-8); it's just the names of the files that have to be romanized.
Now as for the actual matchup, both files are really cool, but Pumpkin Cravings' fun
and
charts are what really won me over in the end.
