Don't get why there's no "Lost Password" function on the site. (My main account was KnucklesSonic8. Been trying to recover that for a long while now.) Anyway...

AMAZING. Darknight put it best by saying this news is almost "phenomenal". DAY ONE! Undoubtedly, this is a DAY ONE for me. I'm unbelievably excited right now. Can hardly contain myself. First off, I was correct in predicting that One Step at a Time would appear in the next DDR (just like how I predicted All Good Things would appear in HP2). Secondly, Earth Wind and Fire FTW! Boogie Wonderland! Sweetness! Pure sweetness! Feel Good Inc.! More LCD Soundsystem (love Tribulations) and Coldplay! And Ne-Yo too. And even I'm Comin Out could be good too. Great choices so far. I hope they keep it up and I'm hoping that I'll continue to be surprised! There are only a few songs confirmed and I'm already sold! Graphics look really good, new characters, bright venues, lots to look forward to!

Balance Board additions seem amazingly fun! I can't believe the amount of innovaton they're putting forth! Hand Markers added SO MUCH to Hottest Party 2. I delved into it so much and now they're adding even MORE innovation. Simply awesome. Konami deserves KUDOS for what they're doing. (In case you haven't guessed I'm a huge supporter/fan of HP2. I think it's awesome and isn't appreciated as much as it should be, especially for the sweet Hand Marker system.)

As for DLC, I'm not worried JUST yet. They could announce it later on. Don't worry. Like someone earlier said, it's just the beta stages. Things can change. Besides, pop and music Wii is getting DLC so it's a stronger possibility that they could add it. And online could get added too. At least, I really hope so. But even if not, I'm so getting this Wii game. Seems like a worthy successor to Hottest Party 2 and it's not just "new songs". Totally new experience.

Fall 2009 could be September like with HP1 and HP2, you never know.

I'm dying to see videos and hear more news. Can't wait to hear finalized name too. All in all, I'm really excited. I'm not too disappointed on the minimum of 50 songs just yet. If they're all quality songs (i.e., great licenses like HP1 and awesome KO's like HP2) I'll be really pleased. DLC in Wii version would be awesome. And I'm hoping that these teased new modes will be online and an Edit Mode. Please Konami. And could this be the winner for Doubles Play to finally return in HP?

those combo numbers look like 5th mix.

And so much for consistency...why didn't they just call them Hottest Party 3, XI, and Universe 4?

"There are over 60 tracks in this new DDR for the PS2."
Confirms that 50 is probably a minimum... as in "at least". Considering, especially, that they did promise a "HUGE" soundtrack.

One Step At A Time: Nice, I like this. This is the sort of thing I'm shocked X didn't see more of.
My Prerogative: Better than Every Little Step, this could grow on me.
Pocketful of Sunshine: I see Ms. Bedingfield still can't sing but this is one of the better things I've heard from her. Like the song, not the voice, but I'll deal.
Viva La Vida: Nice choice!
Boogie Wonderland: UP AND KISS THE BODY BOY THEN PUCKER-- oh
Space Dance: Starts with a nice beat but that's about it. Extremely boring, why is this here? Who is this no-name DJ?
I'm Coming Out: Classic, not my thing but what a name.
Feel Good Inc.: Hells yes, sexy pick.

So far I'm liking a lot of these. Great selections, KONAMI, some big names, some good songs. Not much club music present, I'd like to see some Armin and OceanLab on the roster, but excellent mainstream selections.

Someone at Konami must've seen my HP2 hands AAA videos and figured they didn't do enough! Look at the sixth screenshot with Naoki dancing on what looks like some metallic site. Hand markers are back, but one is in the DOWN LANE! DIRECTIONAL HAND MARKERS FTW! Holy crap, I'm REALLY pumped now!

From the blog:

(4:07:34 PM): Seriousy, the DDR producer is awesome. I have to find him at the booth this week and meet him. I cannot stop smiling.

(4:09:44 PM): He's gonna show us how the Balance Board works with DDR...

Hey, it looks like the awesome DDR producer is NAOKI!! <3 <3 <3 Big Grin

Noticed that too. The directional ones could also refer to the new gameplay elements with the Balance Board.

Taken from IGN's conference summary:
"He's gonna show us how the Balance Board works with DDR. You lean with the arrows. You do not step off the board. There is much hip-swiveling. The Wii Remote and nunchuck are incorporated, too. While wiggling and leaning, you punch along with scrolling icons. It looks like a serious workout."

And don't forget about my vids too. Smile

I'm sorry, but that looks...ugly Neutral.

Over 60 tracks for the PS2 version, that's a LITTLE bit better...but it had better be filled with new songs.

I don't like it very much either. Glad the Wii version looks sweet though - interface changes and all.

Can't be balance board mode because you have the four arrow lanes still. Balance board mode had a whole other interface. That, and the hand markers there were no different than what you already had in HP2. Punch=Shake. This looks to have you actually have you thrust in different directions. Either way, this is nice to see because now I know I won't be AAAing much of anything on the first day, if anything at all.

I think the background looks good, but that character model needs to change.

That PS360 shot looks like Solo on crack. Visuals however look incredibly crappy, which considering the release date, doesn't seem to bode too well for them.

I am not liking the metal squares around each arrow. And they need the traditional DDR arrow design to make it feel like DDR. This just feels like they're trying to ripoff StepMania 4.

Which is an awful interface to begin with.
