"BEMANI Sound Team" |
More info:
SHOCK ARROWS
Stepping on shock arrows will cause damage to lifebar, break combo and will cause momentary stealth. Shock arrows are displayed as white arrows with a lightning effect around it. Avoiding the shock arrows will give OK, but stepping on one will give NG.
Songs with shock arrows have an icon shown during MUSIC SELECT. When you select a song with shock arrows, the SHOCK ARROW help message is displayed.
And song list updated with more difficulties.

That's good that it tells you if a song has shock arrows or not.

Is there an option that you can turn it off, or is it there for good?

There might be an option in the mod menu for that. Probably get some confirmation tomorrow.

As far as I know, I've caught the Wiki article up to what's been revealed so far.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance Dance Revolution X
If anyone notices that I've missed something or has suggestions please let me know via PM. If you feel up to it edit the article yourself (Just make sure your changes are cited by an existing or newly added reference). And don't reference this thread.
The DDR articles on Wikipedia are in sorry shape and I'm going to make sure this one makes it to featured status so any commentary would be appreciated.

You really need to fix the "tentative songlist" portion of the article, haha. It's filled both songs that likely won't appear on the AC (Butterfly, Dub-I-Dub) and songs that likely won't appear on CS (LOM, Max 300) etc.
May I suggest making two separate songlists, one for CS and one for AC? I'm just concenred about n00bs looking at that songlist and thinking that they'll be getting all those songs on the game in September. By the way, I wouldn't include old songs in the AC songlist, because you'll end up having over 400 by the time the machine is fully unlocked

The problem is there's nothing, no citable source, that says the songlists are going to be different. So far the feature set has proven to be the same (besides obvious differences like Street Master Mode) and Konami is on record saying that all releases will be "truly global". So unless something comes along saying otherwise, they're suppose to be one in the same. IF that changes, then they're be an article split, not just the list of songs. And like the other articles, the soundtrack will include all repeats (that's why I made a hidden table after it got to a certain length).
Wikipedia is a filled with n00bs BTW, only they're trying to replace all the text in the page with "PENIS PENIS PENIS!".

Er....are you sure "truly global" is referring to the console games? I remember it just being used for the UK announcement in reference to the name change to "DDR". I mean, it's not like they're going to put every AC song on the CS, right? I mean, obviously the Japanese CS game will have all (or most) of the new Arcade songs, but there's no indication that Konami is changing their age-old trends with the American games. If anything, the confirmation of switch, stealth, Poseidon, and TimeHollow indicates that they are going in the same direction.

I've been looking over the new ratings, and while they're very interesting to read, I suppose it is still a little hard to grasp some levels, like around the 7-11 area.
And I still think certain songs are mis-rated... HADES difficult is a 15, which is, by X's rating system, the new 10. It really should've just been a 9 in SN2, so I would've put it at 14. IT is also suppose to be harder than H-D-V.
NGO's ratings are just weird. I already mentioned Beginner, but Difficult is apparently harder than SAGA and most of the new songs... To put that in the old perspective, that would make most of the old songs about a level 6 and SAGA a 7... NGO is a pretty easy 7, but SAGA is definitely harder than that!
I also think TMP Expert could've worked as a 14.
Maybe I'm thinking this through too much? I'm still extremely excited about exploring the new ratings system, but it might still be a little wonky in some areas.
And I don't think there will be more than one song reaching the 20 rating. It really doesn't get that much harder than Relinquish without going FAXX-weird.
I'm still hoping that the final version's boss songs aren't ALL harder than SN2's. It doesn't have to get harder...
tl;dr: some odd songs are still mis-rated

EXTREME was just plain "DDR" as a song.
SuperNOVA, well, I'd just go with the planet theme on SN2... several songs dedicated to the theme!
SN1 was to celebrate ITG's obliteration, and needed no such song. >_<

Actually, I agree with the ratings. PARANOiA ~HADES~ Difficult is borderline 10 material; it's really hard. Healing-D-Vision was better suited as a 9, like in the location tests.
Part of the thing is just getting used to the new system; we have to settle into it, play the game for a while, and grow accustomed to 'what a 14 is' or any other rating. I just want to know what AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH got degraded to.

I like these ratinges better, people have been saying that they were on ITG, but well I never really played ITG, I played the demo of ITG2, but thats it.
I hope they put some cool licneses songs in here.
Hey I have a question. When is Comic Con? I know its next week, but what day, and time?
