That's nowhere near Coventry, though?

Leicester's one's in the Hollywood Bowl, I believe. This is the place that used to have/still has (delete appropriately) PIU Pro, right?

alrightly, time to start looking at this data and working on a converter for SM to DDR DAT files. I'm not going to be stuck using this editor pft.

any editor that requires the use of the mouse to insert notes is lame

There is also no way to insert triplets. Not that a song requires it yet, but still.

Another gripe is that it takes too long to load. Two minutes to start up an editor is unacceptable in my opinion.

I hope the final version is better.

It's clunky but functional. There's room for improvement but it's better than nothing. The method of placing 16ths/8ths is really irritating.

Tyma you may or may not be forgetting that Troc has a DDR X cab as well. (the UK/US test location one)
This machine is practically unplayable. On the P1 side, the right arrow sticks and on P2, the up and right arrow stick. And I mean it really is bad. I dread every right arrow I have to hit in case it causes it to stick. It will remain active for a good 10-15 seconds, by which point you may have already failed. EES is impossible to pass.

The lag isn't that bad on that machine, or maybe I've just gotten used to it, but the pads are just horrendous. A shame really, since the first time that machine arrived, the pads worked amazingly well.

And that DDR web editor is pretty bad. I was expecting it to be a program you download onto your computer to make it easier to work with. Although I imagine it would probably run better on better PCs, since mine is a heap of junk.

blah, I still have chat open up at my apartment. Anyways, I looked into the edit data, it's definitely time-based encryption. I can save the same edit file twice, without any changes, and the file is totally different. Continuing my research.

...well, im going to make an edit on will, it may suck, it may not, i don't care. Going to give this a shot and just make one so that i have an edit on my USB drive Tongue

...although there is no DDR X cabs in Tampa at the moment, hope that the upgrade kits (IF they ever come out) include USB slots and junk.

Upgrade kits will come out. They always are a few months after initial cab release.

"Tare panda"
The web editor is lame, it use up all CPU power while it is loading data from internet.

The "playback" is not smooth , it only use 16% of my PC's CPU time.

I have tried to upload some different Edit files that works for Asia / JP , and none of them success to load.
Here are some errors I got :

Data not available.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16 bytes) in /usr/local/ddredit/lib/dat/DATReader.php on line 192

Unfortunately, uploading my edit file from JP X causes the web editor to crash, but that may be because I have several edits of songs that aren't yet in the editor.

For anyone who wishes to try, here's my file from DDR X JP (converted the file name to US). If you want to see if it works, make sure you make the "DDR_EDIT" folder on the root of your USB drive and stick this file in it.

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=4f7f64c90c02096db94117dade8fc295e04e75f6e8ebb871

If you care, there are edits of 30 Lives, Flight of the Phoenix, Suki Melo, Tabibito, and Slip Out.

I have tried your file , the editor loads but shows the following :

Ok both my "will" and "Why Not" edits are done and saved onto my USB drive, my will and WN edits are pretty much their expert charts, but with added arrows and such (because the beat version doesn't include triplets, i am left with that option i guess >_>).

...now if only a DDR X cab or the upgrade kits come, then i would surely go to the arcade and play them just to see if it will work and junk Tongue

oh , forgot to say , I have tried the EDIT DATA file saved by the Web Editor.

It is not working on DDRX Asia.

I had renamed the file from U to A , the machine seems to load the file successfully , but no Edit Data is present in the game mode.

More than likely we are stuck with them, there ain't NO way they are going to trade back the US X cabs for the JP-style X cabs, so i guess were going to have to deal with the ones that we have....

...that is of course, until the upgrade kits come out Wink

Obviously they are sticking with them, but Konami is releasing that patch, and calling up Betson will cause them to come fix the pads.
