Why are you mad about them not being SD cards, I don't understand.

A software patch that is retroactive = good... now fix the other dire issues with your series (Including but not limited to the people you do business with). Your fans (while they still are) demand the same level of quality that we had been getting up until EXTREME, regardless of how badly you want to save money by cutting corners in production.
If EXTREME shot acid on people and needed a fix for that, KONAMI wouldn't have distributed it outside of Japan. Actually, KONAMI has been servicing Japan with great quality equipment, if X is any indication. Not to excuse the whole X US situation, but just remarking that EXTREME is hardly a valid example of KONAMI's handling of a global release, because it wasn't.
KONAMI still hasn't fully grasped the concept of a global release, but the Japanese releases continue to be pretty spot on.

This whole SD card and USB thing doesn't matter to me I find. SD cards may be cheaper, but they are way easier to lose. On top of that, I doubt any of the arcades in my city will get DDR X

I have both USB and SD, so I don't care. As long as they do something and have it work.
I don't think anyone around here will get DDR X as well, I think it's because there's no arcade owner around here stupid enough to speed 10,000$ on trash.

It sounds more like Konami is taking heat for Betson so they can keep their business relationship, not because Konami is actually the ones making the English cabinets. I smell lies in that whole press release..
If anyone had anything to do with the design its definitely Konami of America and its definitely Raw Thrills which is why X is so alike GHAC.
Konami does indeed have an American amusement division, their word would always be the final one, not any other company.
You can read a bit about Naoki Okada at the bottom of this article http://www.playmeter.com/0209coverstory.htm

I went to gameworks again on Sunday...

Yay for the being the First person in American to pass This Extra Stage! Boo at how I can still feel lag.
I still cant AAA PFC songs on DDR X, but after DDR X I can walk up to DDR SuperNOVA and AAA any given song almost. Its just stupid crazy how a tiny little bit off lag screws you up.
Yes thats right folks there is STILL lag on the machines. Again though the patch did help fix the machines up a ton, making the game playable. On most songs you wont probably feel the lag, but on songs like this, its Apparent.
I will test the USB software when it comes out too.
Also notice how Konami says absolutely nothing about unlocks, and e-amuse service. Thats just awful. They say they listen, but the most talked about feature that everyone wants is not mentioned.
Oh and you can request songs for me to play on DDR X and view my videos in this Thread...

Nobody understands the concept of a "distribution company". I've long given up trying to explain this, but Betson don't build the machines. They're a bunch of people sitting in a warehouse full of arcade machines, trying to sell the machines onto arcades, and make a profit as a "middle-man".
Konami ultimately program the game. They design the machine, and they print schematics. Konami employ somebody to build machines out of the schematics, and then those machines are sent to Betson to sell.
You're all right in hating the guy who build the machines, because he used an LCD TV that doesn't suit the type of game used in the cabinet, and because he skimped on the panel design, using shitty parts and taking shortcuts. You're all right to hate this guy, but this guy's name isn't Betson.

Thing is ΩOMEGAΩ, the deal with e-AMUSE, not many AC operators like to adopt it due to the technicalities involved. Like costs, hardware, maintenance and all that stuff. Nothing to do on KONAMI's part, people just don't like to pay for the service.
You're right on the unlocks though, Japan is nearly finished with their unlocks and we're just only getting started, I hope they'd release the codes for it much earlier than what happened with SuperNOVA2. The waiting around then was ridiculous especially Japan has already finished their unlocks ages ago.
There is good reason to believe Betson played no part in the making of the cab, due to RAW THRILLS being written all over it, I'd say it's safe to say they're the culprits this time round.

Its weird though because e-amuse is clearly implemented on the machines, and yet all arcade owners are in the dark about it. If its on the damn machine and they are indeed going to release it this time around they should at least say something like "we are also working to get the North American e-amuse servers up" or something to know that they are still planning the release of the service. It feels odd Konami is so silent about the whole thing right now. I can even now through onto the table that they might not even release it... again.

Sure, but still, just cos it's on the machine, it doesn't automatically mean all AC operators will get the service, as it does cost money for them.
True, KONAMI should've acknowledged this part in the announcement, but I guess with it not being announced at all, I have a grim feeling not many AC operators have actually shown an interest in it. And with the economy so bad right now, the last thing AC operators want is another expense on their list, cos you know, it's all about the money these days.

It's up peeps.
Basic note here: Easiest thing to do is make the chart and Stepmania and copy it down on this.

Probably just for the BETA. Though I have a hard time believing licenses will be included.

I will try to rename the DDR_EDIT_U.DAT to DDR_EDIT_A.DAT and see if it works on Asia DDRX.
Although it is not likely to work.

Extreme was never officially released outside Japan in the first place; all Extremes in the US are bootleg imports and nearly all of them use a fake banner. (real genuine Extremes have a metallic glitter effect on the Extreme text and a silver badge)

Is anybody keeping track of where in the UK has DDRX machines?
I'm going to Warwick tomorrow, and I seem to remember there are machiens in Coventry and Leicester?

Unfortunately, uploading my edit file from JP X causes the web editor to crash, but that may be because I have several edits of songs that aren't yet in the editor.
For anyone who wishes to try, here's my file from DDR X JP (converted the file name to US). If you want to see if it works, make sure you make the "DDR_EDIT" folder on the root of your USB drive and stick this file in it.
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=4f7f64c90c02096db94117dade8fc295e04e75f6e8ebb871
If you care, there are edits of 30 Lives, Flight of the Phoenix, Suki Melo, Tabibito, and Slip Out.

Tyma you may or may not be forgetting that Troc has a DDR X cab as well. (the UK/US test location one)
