With all this drama I think I'd rather play EuroMIX or EuroMIX2 (or a 5thMIX if I could find one, 5thMIX is awesome), at least the machines work. I don't fancy spending money on a machine which doesn't work properly. I wouldn't buy a broken game.

When you're spending thousands developing and licensing a game SURELY you would ensure that you (or your partner) used adequate parts and that it worked correctly.

You haven't worked with Betson yet.

How can Betson be so useless though, and why do Konami choose to use them?

I'm suspecting (well, hoping, actually, otherwise this reflects extremely poorly on KONAMI) that they were looking for a major distributor to get them back into the game for the SuperNOVA release and signed a contract with Betson that they cannot simply break unless Betson breaches the terms of the contract. They probably felt it was a better idea since Betson already had the appropriate infrastructure in place to distribute arcade games on a mass scale. Well, who knows for sure, but perhaps X may be playable by September or something.

We went and played 4th Mix instead. God, that was fun.

Betson realised DDR wasn't being released in america at all, and went to Konami with a shedload of money?

Yesterday I've been informed about 2 DDRX dedicabs in the airport. In 2 weeks, the dedicabs will appear to the public.
Too expensive the dedicabs...
No info about e-amusement yet.

I hated the DDR X pads and screen. It was so hard to play I couldn't even hold the freeze arrows when playing. It sucked how you had to press really heard, the lag was very noticeable when I was playing ME AGAINST THE MUSIC and the background would freeze often. The pad was good on Freeway Shuffle and Two Months off.

or something Wink

A nutty question, but what's this second unlocked accessory for Queen-Zukin I've heard about? For that matter, what was the first one? It's not some unspeakably terrible item like Zero's horse-head, is it?

I wonder if Konami or Betson will eventually *do* something to sort out the obvious apalling quality of new-style DDRX dedicabs. At this current moment in time I am hoping that our local arcades have *actually* cancelled their orders as they had said before, because I can't see them getting much better...

Er...they just released a patch fixing the lag, and apparently if you call up Betson, they will come and apply a fix to the pads, so they are doing something.

Thing is, if we call up Betson, are they coming to the UK? Tongue

Nope, didn't think so.

I'll give it a try if anyone has a phone number for their UK branch!

I might even video the conversation and stick it online if people are interested!

They won't know who or what Betson is, though.

I thought Betson wasn't the UK distributor anyways?

This is correct.

029 2045 0345 is the UK distributor.

We don't know whether the Namco Station machine came is a UK machine, or an imported Betson machine, by the way.

"OMG KON!"
Went to gameworks in Illinois today (where they have a DDR X Dedicab), and the lag has been fixed on the DDR X machine. Seems the game got an update from Betson or Konami. I will post some videos and pictures in a little while showing the lag has indeed been fixed on our machine, and hopefully soon the rest of the ones that were shipped get this update soon as well.
