The link has a very clear video of game play, probably nothing new though. (Is that a new outfit for Ruby?)
I see Disco, Jenny, Julio, and Bonnie... did I miss a part? o_o;

While I'm chara-geeking, hooray that cut-ins display on doubles now~

Makes me wonder how doubles cut-in will look like if the screen isn't widescreen.

And still no 2nd mix characters? Oh well, it's just a nitpick on my side. No point in taking it very seriously.

Assuming they're still letting arcades upgrade those poor old cabinets. Lately it seems like locations aren't maintaining the classic cabinets they have anymore as if they're waiting to swap them out whether there's an upgrade option or not.

I would imagine arcades want the best option possible. If I were an arcade, I'll get the latest and best cabinet. But then again, I have no idea if the brand new cabinets are any different than the picture I quoted (Can I call it the Dedicab 2010 (DDR X)?) except for the fact that it looks like the brand new 2013 cabinet, although didn't cut corners, did make it more affordable by not having light up panels, etc.

You'd also be charging $5/set if you did that. Arcade cabs are not cheap, and neither is shipping or importing them.

Yep, that's just when it's coming to various arcades in the same chain. Looks like the real release date is 3/14 or earlier.
nice.

A lot of the better charts were already used in X2

Its odd that the arcade team have brought over plenty of content from the Ultramix and Universe series, but new Challenge charts for older songs hasn't been one of them.

Product Page opened.

EDIT:

Interesting enough, a link to the site for the new DDR is available on the DanceDanceRevolution portal section of the BEMANI site, but the link is dead at the moment.

We are now about one and a half days until the release of the new cabinets. Currently, 12 arcades have been confirmed to be getting the new cabinet on release day with about 16 more getting it by the end of the week. All in all, over 100 arcades across Japan will have the game by the end of the month.

Just visited the product page and saw some screenshot of the game, apparently the UI from JAEPO's preview is used.. I kinda hope it's changed, IMO the UI for this mix is kinda... hideous, I think? Or maybe it's just my over-preference to the X2 AC look. (even X3 looks meh to me).

Then, yay for the new cabs! Let's see if anyone here is playing on the release day... or maybe even sneak some photos and vids? Very Happy

Regardless, there are some songs they hadn't brought over that would be absolutely awesome if they did.

I'd love 100 Sec Kitchen Battle!!, 777 and Vertical. Even if they didn't have their challenge charts (either way I still love their challenge charts)

Even some songs that don't have challenge charts would be awesome, like My Hero and half the Big Idea songs (the good half... like A Dream, Just Pretend and Jewelya Of De'Nile). Feel The Beat and Rhythm of My Heart would be awesome, too.

The way DanceDanceRevolution works now does invite more possibilities of revival content (Still wishing for classic MIX events). It could also be a greater chance for KONMAI... I too miss the ULTRAMIX/UNIVERSE stuff and would like to see a lot of the older goldies appear in the arcade.

What I want to know is if new stuff is added every month (namely any licenses), and this mix is meant to be a permanent fixture, how long will those songs last? Are the "packs" going to expire after a set amount of time has passed or will there be eAmuse updates that turns certain songs off on command?

I also get the feeling that I'm going to want a save file for every current (at that time) Bemani series on my card... Roll Eyes

Hopefully they don't do it Saucer style and consistently remove the songs people like and keep the ones nobody plays at random, in the case that songs are removed for any reason.

New songs (and I assume theme changes) are set to be added every 6 months.

Last we heard, boss songs would be on a six month cycle while normal songs would be on a monthly cycle. That information came from the unofficial timeline displayed at one of the arcades here in Japan. I don't think it was found out where they got that info, but it makes sense. Especially since the official landing site Pie posted mentions adding new content "throughout the year".

I can only assume the info the arcade got is accurate. If it's not, whatever. I was just curious as to the lifetime of added content, not so much the frequency.
