Very well stepped rhythm-wise. A lot of neat crossover patterns, although some of the forced doublesteps are a bit ugly.

Is anyone else a little bothered that all the new songs so far are in the same vein (i.e. hardcore/euro trance)?

They're all IIDX songs which were purposefuly designed for the Doujin / Nico fanbase, to capitolise on the success of Red Zone. The genre is called 'Buchiage", or "Hands Up".

Second Heaven can't be for real? There's no way that's going to end up on a finished product, playing like a Simfile designed by somebody who's only ever played Stepmania on a keyboard.

Dazzlin' Darling isn't as bad, but it's still bad.

Smooooch is fairly average.

Fire Fire is really, really, really good. It's as hard as it "sounds", and all the steps flow really, really well. It feels a lot like an old DDR Cata, wheras the other 3 feel like home-made simfiles, which are purposefuly harder, for the sake of being harder.

Second Heaven seems like a contender for "Worst Song In DDR" to me :{

Not exactly; I'm talking about all the new songs. In addition to the first four, we have two hardcore songs (with which they share various elements) and a eurobeat song, which also has similarities to Handz Up.

My impressions of the charts...

Second Heaven: Rhythms are fine and everything, but the whole freaking song does not have to be crossovers and spins, alright? I really hope they change this one in the final game, because this one is just not fun.\`\

Dazzlin' Darlin: I'm pretty average on this one. Honestly, this is a good chart: good rhythms, fun spins etc. but the gallups kill it for me. I just hate it when things are added to a chart just for the sake of gameplay and not for the music.

smooooooch: Very, very fun! It's decently difficult and flows really well. Somehow I can do these spins (and believe me, I suck at spins). I think this song will probably be the most thoroughly scrutinized of the crossovers because of how many steps already exist of it.

FIRE FIRE: Can't really decide if I like this or smooooch better, but FIRE FIRE is definitely good for all the reasons already listed. I can't believe the players actually thought this needed to be knocked down to 13...
