Suspicion: Raw Thrills made them change the hardware in the US.
Konami wastes time optimizing it for new hardware.
Game becomes trash heap.
Raw Thrills releases knockoff with quality.Konami wastes time optimizing it for new hardware.

???
Profit!
From the people who brought you The Fast And The Furious : Motorbikes, and that shooting game that cashed-in on the 9/11 terrorist attacks!
I wouldnt be surprised if Raw Thrills killed my family and ate my dog, before destroying all that is precious to me (including DDR).

I'll send Raw Thrills a memo saying they could save even more money by making the pads out of papier-mâché. I'm sure the performance would only be marginally worse than it currently is!

It's also worth noting that 2 functional machines have been spotted in the Wild (Europe)
Namco Station (Manchester, United Kingdom)
Planet Bowling (Lille, France)

I will probably drop by at some point and have a word with the manager about raising the sensitivity of the pads if need be. Namco seems the place that listens to its customers.
I'll swing by sometime soon, up for meeting up?

So I just came back from the Hawaii DDRX and it was...decent
- Indeed it's the Japan version
- Version H: D:X:A:A:A: 2008121900 (which I'm guessing is the very first one w/o updates.)
- 2 USB ports
- No e-amusment, no lights, no high score saving.
- No Final Stage thing for me (couldn't find any red text songs while scrolling through final stage.)
- 4 songs
- Seems to be another upgrade kit, as this same arcade has had an EXTREME and SN in the past.
- Although it has Extreme pads, the game still suffers from the lag/detection problems. Had to resort to Standard (when I usually try and go with Heavy)

Did you get an A on any song before Final Stage? If you didn't, no final stage song would appear.

That A:A:A indicates that it's the Asian version. Japanese versions have J:A:A instead.- Indeed it's the Japan version

Asia version upgrade kit solved the lag problem after 2009-2-11 (but the version no. had not changed that day)
2009-2-16 had a major update , version no. from this should have solved the lag for sure

Now I know why the machine is very cheap...

And it's not really a problem if DeLL is the PC they use, DeLL is good too I think

You got my hopes up for some sort of UK release :{
Wasn't that the event where people commented that the pads were obviously different from Japanese pads, but just as good, while posting videos of people PFC'ing songs on the machine?

What I heard was that the touring cabinet in the UK now looks exactly like the US mass production cabinet except it has the latest eAmuse update (no HD lag) and all four sensors on each arrow panel (severe lack of gay).

I'm not too fussed about DDR X, I'd rather have had SuperNOVA2 AC to be perfectly honest.

There you go PanStyle, I have heard that the pads are really good. All you have to do is adapt to the lag or wait for a software update to come out

Yeah, that's the way I see it, why should we have to adapt to the lag. We never had to do so for the past 10 years.

I still can't believe when I first saw the GH:AC cab in person, I was thinking "this thing looks so awesome, why not just change the artwork, hook up DDR pads to it, and call it the new DDR X cabinet?"
This, was still, kinda not what I had in mind.
