I believe VDChallenge now holds the record for highest number of steps in 1 second ever, at 16.

I think that might even beat PandemoniumChallenge in ITG.
EDIT: oops, even TLoM beats that.

In my opinion, VD is one of the best boss songs to ever grace a DDR Game (My other favorites were Tokyo Evolved, 888, Maximizer, and Paranoia Respect).
The steps for Challenge are a fine, my only problem is the seemingly randomly places jumps. It looks like they had thrown the step chart together and accidentally put in a few extra notes, and forgot to take them out.
I guess Im trying to say the idea is great but it feels a little unpolished.

That's over 13 steps a second!

Lord Of The Dance Machine now has one less lie in it :{

Can someone mathematically confirm this?

Let's see...that bit is 8th runs at 480 BPM, so;
480 x 2 = 960 ("actual" BPM of the notes)
960 / 60 seconds = 16 steps per second

Not only that, but it's held for a full 4 seconds (64 steps).

It also finally beats the world record for clapping speed at just under 15 claps per second.
888Challenge, which previously had the fastest stream, was at 14.6 steps per second.

uhh, The legend of MAX has faster notes than Pandemonium.

They might not be as long, but there are faster notes in ITG. Euphoria has notes at roughly 18.6 nps. Tension has notes at 24nps if you wanna get really technical, but really you have to turn to ITG customs to find 240 BPM

That part is the same speed as the above videos.

Edit;
Determinator is 14.7 nps
888 is 14.8 nps
Pandemonium is 11nps

I'm talking about *steps in one second*, not number of steps per second.

A stream has to be held for at least a full second to count in my opinion. Otherwise you could add in deltaMAXChallenge's triplet 8ths at 541 bpm for 18 steps per second, and Pluto RelinquishHeavy and Challenge's gallop 16ths at 400 bpm for 26 steps per second.

Obviously these don't count as streams because they come in very rapid bursts.

i know what you meant. I was just getting really technical. Heh

As far as streams go, 240 BPM is nothing new to ITG players. 4 measures of 16 nps is pretty short, so I don't think I'd have a problem clearing that. It's just that crossover stuff near the end.

"o_O?"
Just saw the videos.

Konami stopped messing around. I appreciate that. VD is great for crushing egos. Think you can play Expert? Can you beat VD Basic? :P

Anti-Matter and New Decade looks halfway decent. Possession isn't too bad.

VD Challenge is nothing short of the most epic pile of arrows I have ever seen. You wanted a 19 and they gave it to you. Those who expected sunshine, lollipops and rainbows (a.k.a a good chart) should really look at old 18's first before asking for harder stuff.

I love the Pierce the Sky Extended version.
The Heavens! The Earth! And a million squirrels call to me! Huh? What...they don't?

Now that everything is unlocked(excluding challenge charts from MARATHON MODE) will KONAMI release the first batch of unlock codes or do we still have to wait for those challenge charts to be unlocked?

I wonder when, if ever, they will unlock the special challenge charts for people not in Japan. I'm in no rush to play most of these though haha.

What makes you say that? did you guys not get something in X or SN2 or something?

(I know about how the jubeat * appends may not have made it out of Japan, but this isn't "append" material...)

Some CHALLENGE charts are still locked for arcades that use the PASELI system. All players that go to arcades that don't have this, will be locked out until Konami finally unlocks the charts for them.

eeeh, i just listened to it and i have to say i'm quite disappointed. no new vocals, no new melodies....
the parts we already had were just creatively repeated with slightly different sounds to them and then puzzled together. i still love the song, and the extended version can't get any less love, but i'm not particularly blown away

"Give me a steady beat."
Enjoy unlocks (songs, charts, characters, character accessories) are still locked. That plus the marathon-only charts makes for quite a bit of stuff still locked. According to Aaron, it's a cultural thing to leave at least one thing not fully unlocked with each release (at least until it appears in the following release). But that's a bit much.

The jubeat update & the max code is all that's left I think.

To those who were asking, "in love wit u" and "real -high- SPEED" are now unlocked.

Can you reconfirm the ENJOY LEVEL locks, preferably with a pic or something, as according to BEMANIwiki, ALL of that are unlocked.
