See folks, you ask for a 19 and you get bullshit charts. Why? Because beyond a 16 charts become ridiculously hard because they HAVE to become ridiculously hard to reach such a rating. I don't see how anyone can expect a chart to be anything but garbage at 17 and beyond.

I'd be cool as long as said 20 doesn't have silly stops, slowdowns or double steps and just flows Tongue

"rawr."
I hope someday Konami makes the switch to increasing the stamina needed for songs instead of attempting to mash in as many arrows as possible in 2 minutes...

Possession-type song/stepchart but closer to 3 minutes in length...I think that would make a pretty good 20 footer.

That would be nice. DDR songs seems to have gone up from 1:30 to 2:00 anyways. Bring back Long Version and power mixes and we've got a deal.

"Give me a steady beat."
<-- will have to work to full combo the Beginner chart.

That is balls. A 9. An X-scale 9.

The thing is VDimension and all these new 18 charts are pretty damn good except VDimension has artificial difficulty in that speedup at the end and a dodgy jump which is apparently konamis latest "Gimmick" for making things harder than they need to be. Basically until the last 20 or so seconds that chart is fine and actually looks like it would be fun to play for top level players. If it wasnt for the blatant spammy stream of crossovers in the last quarter and the random jump in the speedup and the fact the song speeds up meaning you cant play it on anything above 2x realistically, it would have been a brilliant chart.

TL;DR get me a lineout mp3 , ill take the ending speedup out and rework the last 20 seconds or so the chart makes sense and it would still be qualified as an 18/19 just to shut up everyone out there who seems to think that hard charts have to be "Bad"

I cant stop thinking why Konami only seems to do this shit with DDR. I cant think of any other Konami music game that has such a disproportion in difficulty when making boss songs. Not to mention DDR seems to be special in the fact that the songs they create are only passable to players in the 99.9x percentile.

IIDX has HUGE amounts of artificial difficulty, infact some songs are edited specifically so that they fade out directly after a huge buildup meaning the last bar of the chart can be absolutely batsh*t insane compared to the rest of it which is why so many 10+ charts are actually like 7/8 charts but the last bar is so ridiculous you would have to actually physically learn to do it by memory just in order to keep your bar above 80%.

Popn cant really vouch for, guitar freaks same, drummania had some issues with charts basically being a case of "How fast can we have one drum roll going for before people realise they arent supposed to pass it" Jubeats got people memorizing charts in hours so its not like we can say thats too hard.

Basically konami heard people want hard charts, but konami cant write hard charts without assuming we need artificial difficulty.

My guess is they are desperate for it to be as hard as the other Bemani games because DDR seems to be the "easiest".
No other Bemani game has people getting PFCs as much as in DDR, especially on the expert difficulties. 99% in a IIDX boss song is unheard of as far as I know and practically impossible.

but they just don't know that such difficulty doesn't work out so smoothly in DDR

Hardest Beginner chart ever.

Eighth notes? Seriously? This is BEGINNER.

Also, might I say that that looks more like a 10 than a 9? Just what I think.

I've kinda liked what they (KONAMI) have done here...
if you go back all the way yonder to the good ole days...

MAX where we had MAX 300 we were like oOo and ahh
MAX2 with MaxX UNLIMITED we were like holy shit...
EXTREME with PARANOiA survivor MAX, we were like holy shit... ... again except it started to define who was a casual player and who was hardcore player.
SuperNOVA with Fascination ~eternal love mix~... again
SuperNOVA 2 with PARANOiA ~HADES~ and Pluto Relinquish... only now the hardcore and best players would be defined here and say that they beat it even if the chart sucked
DDR X with Trigger... except it kinda went easy
and now....
DDR X2 with Valkyrie dimension... everyone is like "WTF" or "garbage chart" but now only the best can beat this chart... it has almost everything from max 300's stream to Pluto Relinquish's technicality all in one.

either way a good way to experiment with the first 19 footer. but I've divulged into it too much.
looking forward to the next 19 footer.
