Making a ridiculously hard chart while making it flow to the music is a tough thing to do. There's that fine line of creativeness and ridiculous, you know.

*points to the good technical ITG charts, which have the added benefit of not being made for pay*

PARANOiA Revolution flows for the most part until the ending gets a little sketchy.

No it doesn't, unless we're giving no regards to patterning.

Paranoia Revolution's patterns are dumb but at least they're going to things that are audible in the song.

PARANOiA Revolution is my favorite 19, mainly because that's the first one I've passed ever since I got back into the swing of things. It just holds a special place in my heart compared to the rest of the 19 nightmares. I will admit certain parts irritate me, but hey! I don't care until I lose at those parts.

Yes good technical ITG charts exist, but I was referring to the 19s. Those precious ones were made with love, and we feel it.

And I retract my statement about Over the "Period" being like Egoism. That isn't fine, it's like someone JUST HAD TO play around with new things because they want to feel like they're the expert on this sort of thing and pass it as 'flowing with the beat.'
It's like an awesome radio, you cannot see, but you can feel it.

Over "The" Period disappoints me the most because I remember when I first saw the DSP and people got to the BPM wave gimmick section and thought, "Wow, they actually used BPM wave gimmicks...and it's not that dumb".

But then the ESP and CSP charts was released and I saw that section in those charts...

EGOISM is probably my favourite 19 only because it's the least dumb with the patterning and/or BPM gimmicks. It was also the reason it was the first 19 I obtained because it was the first 19 I bothered trying to get

Egoism Challenge is a doublesteppy ambiguous mess throughout most of it and it's still the most reasonable 19. That's saying something. It's my least favorite of them but it would probably be the first one I'd try if I were to get to that level.

Moving away from charts for a moment, Australia now has DDR Ace. Fully online and everything.

That's awesome! In fact Australia and NZ have access to Japanese songs too! Lucky for them.

Konami has yet to make a good 19 footer. Why I don't want to see what a 20 would be. Likely garbage.

Morbid curiosity strikes me. Best case scenario is a 240+ bpm candlestream chart with lots of ambiguous doublesteps, worst case is... eughhh....

I mainly want to see a 20 simply because Konami has been teasing us for, like, 4 years now. XD

It's like if it was Christmas morning, and you've been wanting a brand new iPhone, and you keep getting only the box for one as gag gifts until the you finally get the real thing for your Santa gift.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

What is wrong with having no 20?

The scale only going up to 19 is a fine idea to me. It's a unique-enough number compared to a 1-10, 1-13, 1-15, 1-20 etc. scale. I've heard technically, the current scale goes up to 20, but maybe they added that number well before they even had the first 19 to begin with and it's just an artifact.

19's fine.

Again, probably because the formatting of the scale when it first came out made us assume 19s and 20s were both to come.

Against that, we really SHOULDN'T expect one considering it's been nearly 10 years with the scale and it only took like 2 years to get the first 19 but no 20s since.

Reminder that people went bananas over VD Challenge and no one were expecting that.

To be frank, I'm never going to really pass anything above a 15 without feeling completely winded (back in the day, songs like Max 300 were among the hardest songs in the series, and when I played the Saber Wing remix Challenge on X2 after that huge gap between SN1 and today, (and not knowing what the 1-20 was equivalent to on the old 1-10 scale) it was the worst mistake I ever made because I was left coughing my lungs out all day. XDD ), so it's mainly wanting a 20 from a viewer's perspective.

To me, a Level 1 and a Level 20 are the bookends, much like how 1-10 was back in my prime. It doesn't matter if it's nothing but gimmicks, or cheap speedups like VD Challenge , it just doesn't feel complete in a logical sense to me.

After all, I'm sure Konami wasn't gonna intend on those really weird 1-8 and 1-9 scales of 1st-5th Mix be permanent because I'm sure they knew that was a weird scale. At least when we got Max 300, the first level 10 (now a mere 15), we finally had that bookend, and then songs that were much harder than that came along, especially in SuperNova 1 and 2, so we went to the next logical step being 1-20.

With that all said, do I expect a level 20 in A? God no! I'm thinking the next version's gonna cover that. You folks keep saying "We haven't seen a good 19 yet, so why should we get a 20?", but is there really going to ever be one? One could argue that we still don't have a good 18. So, it would feel par for the course if they actually make a Level 20, in my opinon.

One last thing, which also doubles as a segue for my last paragraph: If we had a 20, we would at least have some sort of benchmark, and perhaps you folks could actually get a "good 19" since they would be all, "okay, so if we tone down this pattern ever so slightly and give them proper timing to the music, it would be a fair challenge". I'm sure people back in 2001 weren't thinking Max 300 Heavy was "fair/balanced", at least until the sequels came out in MAX2 and Extreme.
