By the way, the tagline for this game is ダンス知らなくても踊れるよ! which roughly translates to "You can dance even if you don't know how!"

Did they move the stage information element to the side the player is on to allow for mid-game joining? As in, someone is on stage 3 and you join as stage 1, and when their game ends yours continues?

nightbird lost wing sounds great, and the chart looks fun! Pretty tricky, seems like a suitable 14. Excited for the rest of the songs and charts to continue along that line!

I have an updated version of nightbird lost wind I altered to be more like the actual gameplay in the video on the previous page, and if you guys would like to try it out, you can try out the simfile here:
http://fs02n1.sendspace.com/dl/dfb56deb5e79d4f50c0de44b8f51d4b6/5122879f5aa76b78/fge83g/nightbird%20lost%20wing.zip
UPDATES:
-Adjusted beat 0 offset.
-Adjusted BPM to 189.94 (approx. 190).
-Added STOPS.
-Added the graphics from the previous page (credit to nk_karon355 for the images).
-Adjusted freeze arrows to coordinate with the chart.
If you find any errors, please let me know so I can fix them.

That's actually a pretty accurate description of the game.[Well, if you partake in freestyling and not just arrow-smashing, to be clear.]

What if you don't freestyle but you still add a bit of stylin' to it, like random little dance moves?
Meh, even though I can't dance I still somehow impressed some peeps at the arcade. I guess it's an impressive thing to be able to mash buttons at good timing.
If this is going to be updated frequently, acting as a semi-culmination of DDR, they better release it in the U.S., and with good cabs.

It'll come to the U.S. as soon as the U.S. gets legit e-Amusement from Konami
(never)
Then again what do I know, Hatsune Miku Project Diva is in the states connected to the Aime server in Japan.

The lack of eAmuse in the states is not a technical issue, or even a cost issue. It's a trust issue. It's a you're-just-going-to-try-to-hack-our-shit-so-forget-it issue.
Even in Japan Konami is exceptionally strict about things, The US is more likely to get meimei plus than DDR.

Or are they just seeing the jackets from group sort and assuming that it's everything?
Also...
The link has a very clear video of game play, probably nothing new though. (Is that a new outfit for Ruby?)

The return to the core name makes sense because Dance Dance Revolution will have nearly every song from all 13 major arcade releases in one machine.

Konami representatives at the show stated there are no plans currently for an international release.

He edited the article while Shift-JIS was on.
Personally, I want to believe that DDR will contain the essence of the entire arcade series. That way I won't feel so bad about getting shafted out of X4 VS 3rdMIX.

This is surely partly a misunderstanding and partly printing a favorite marketting line from Konami. As it stands, it certainly does contain a fuckton of songs from the AC releases, but that's much less than a third of "every song" from the first 13 games.
I guess they could bring back previous licenses on a limited time basis (I think they do this in Reflec Beat right now?), and it might be very affordable to do that from a licensing perspective? It's all guesswork though - they probably just wanted to convey that it has a much larger songlist than any western gamer would expect from a music game.

Well, western gamers expect something along the lines of Just Dance 3. And that the songs are for the most part well-known licenses. That doesn't describe DDR anymore.
It's not their fault, they're not used to covering games...

pop'n already got a redesign a couple mixes back. And I think the Hello! series died.
I would like to see the new DDR design in black, it made a world of difference for the Gitadora machines.

This cabinet. What is the likelihood of an arcade in Japan switching this out with the new cabinet and is able to be sold to an American, like myself?
I know I can never get the new machine unless some illegal moves take place, but I know I can at least get the one in this picture [one day].
