Maybe the character models are kinda outdated at this point, but I've grown attached to them, and they're still leagues better than pre-SN. A lot of what was in DDR A wasn't really broken, so the lack of changes are more of a blessing than a curse imo. I lost my mind when X2 went from a song wheel to that line of songs and may still not be used to the grid display but would take that over X2

Except a few things like... I'm surprised we have the same announcer. Or the combo taking up like half of the viewing area. I'm bad at keeping up with the changes, but the font seems different..? Just still huge.

I'd be all elitist bothered someone confused Jenny with Lady when her face hasn't changed since SN and she has the same outfit as A but... it's Jenny so ehhh and I guuuuess pairing her with Afro makes it confusing

Also if you really, *really* want to be optimistic about the way the characters are being treated, maybe they're leaving them this way intentionally to lock in canon instead of confusing people by changing their image over and over. I think they're seeing that with Rinon; sure, they gave her upgrades, but her core design has been pretty popular, so they keep using her. Like I could almost interpret this as them finally noticing their marketing potential instead of throwing darts at an outfit dartboard trying to get them right. maybe because they're wearing these outfits in the movie erm, I don't mean to sound crazy, but I'm just saying they've been doing a lot of nice things for the characters up to this point, so it's a bit early to get mad about a feature that was kicked under a rug for several games.

So the eAmuse site seems to be there, and I logged in, but I can't for the life of me get to the page where you see your options or whatever. Haven't poked at it on A in an eternity and it feels like I'm missing something obvious.

As I said before, we aren't conformist. we are not satisfied with little things. There many games which are succesful because they have put a lot of effort and investment to give the gamers something good.

I don't mind the character models, what I do mind is how insanely boring the camera angles have become in the game. In a game like DDR i'd like exciting backgrounds, and 1st-4th mix had exactly that, with real flashy background animations and the dancers busting a groove while the camera flied all over theme. SuperNOVA still had some nice camera movement, but now it's just "slowly pan from right to left, then stop" "slowly pan from up to down" "slowly panning far off shot" it's so goddamn boring and just brings out how outdated the character models look even more, as well as how lame the dance moves really are. The current dance routines lean more towards para para, and don't go with a lot of the music in the game.

honestly they haven't added a new character since X2 what do you expect
but yes they would add more changes but I'm glad they surprised us in some aspects while also having to sacrifice aesthetic
the songlist is actually something DDR players craved for, non-"weeby", difficult but fun, new and unique songs with tons of commissioned artists that finally made their DDR debut and isn't just filled with the same artist/bst tag, even if it's just 9 songs
we also got a really good song by Kizuna Ai surprisingly, and also no crossovers too, still I too expect better things to come
(Tbh the old game dance routines were silly and very cartoony/i.e dated late 90s/early 00's style I rather have them just reuse dancevo assets like they are for the upcoming mobile game)

Holy balls, taking my time listening to all the new songs. It's been 5 songs in a row that have been straight bangers. This is insane, haven't felt this way listening to new DDR songs in a while tbh

I didn't like Neverland that much tbh, it's kind of a mess. Besides that all of them were great tbh. Quality over quantity defintely applies here. It's funny because there's about as many songs as 1stMIX had back in the day.

Legit cannot believe that W&W, an EDM artist that I regularly listen to, has a song on DDR now, like actually wtf. Song sounds pretty lit, and the chart does too. Hopefully they will make more songs for DDR.

The blue marvelous in mayus is from HP3 and for DDRA20 is the same but in minus. xD!

I am so hyped for this game! It looks great (except gameplay's abundance of gold is kind of blinding) and all the songs sound fantastic. Only thing that's a disappointment for me is that, according to RemyWiki, The Light and HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN MELLOW (20th Anniversary Mix) will ONLY be playable on the gold cabs, meaning the US probably won't get to play them. I hope that's just a timed thing.

On a serious note, quality over quantity. Supernova started out with a crap ton of new songs, but it is one of the most disappointing mixes by far, says someone out there probably idk. I mean, I didn’t care for most of the new stuff that was there then. There were probably only ten or so songs from supernova that I really enjoyed, so yeah, let the song list take its time. I’d rather that than getting 50 new songs that are hastily put together for the sake of quantity and only playing the ten or so that are good anyway. Let’s trim the fat.

I remember when the 20th anniversary was approaching and many were saying that Konami would likely ignore it or do jack shit. We ended up getting a lot: new songs in Ace, merch, the website event, an OST, a NEW version of the game and even a NEW cab to go with it. Regardless of whether you like this content or not, Konami did actually come through for the 20th. Anyone still complaining or saying “DDR is dead” needs to get out.

Just managed to include the rating changes from DDRMAX2 to 2014 on the RemyWiki page. Now I need to include all of DDR A, and there's a LOT of changes there. 😂🔫

We already have Butterfly re-arranged by Kors K in Dance Rush (which I've stepped already, albeit in ITG-style), so it's most likely going to cross over to DDR under the same fashion as the new Have you Never Been Mellow release.
