Try breathing while you're playing. If you can't remember to breath, you're not going to get very far.
yeah, i do breath during streamless part and stops too... following the beat...Breathing also makes a big difference in scoring. When I started breathing in time to the music, I saw my scores shoot up, from 30-40 greats on songs to 1-6.

What the hell are you on, reggaeton wasn't even popular back then lolol
I don't know how to describe "Dancemania Bass" to someone who hasn't played that game :{
I literally have no idea how to explain what "My Baby Mama" sounds like, without sounding racist.
It's pretty much what a bunch of Japanese people thought reggaeton (or at least the kind of urban dance music which was popular then, with the same audience) sounded like, when sped up to 130BPM. The gimmick of Dancemania Bass was basicaly (sorry if this is pretty blunt) "This is what a bunch of popular Dancemania songs would sound like, if they came from "Da Hood").. But yeah, Solo Bass Mix was music from Dancemania Bass, and Solo 2000 was music from Dancemania Speed. A lot of the songs from Bass Mix showed up as happy hardcore remixes on Solo 2000, as well.

no, dufus. DDR is just like any other cardiovascular workout. if you dont breathe, you're done. if you run on a track, can you sprint hardcore without breathing then slow down and breathe, then pick it back up and not breathe? hell no. your body will hate you, and you'll probably pass out from the lack of oxygen. think the same with max300 or whatever 10 you're playing. BREATHE DURING THE WHOLE SONG.
i get what you're saying, but just because it drains energy doesnt mean that not breathing helps. unless i'm reading it wrong(in conjunction with the post where he says he holds his breath), he's just breathing where there arent many notes and that just doesnt help. its actually more tiring to do that because as you go faster you need to breathe more. regulating your breathing actually gives you more stamina. since i learned how to breathe as a runner, i've used that on DDR and ITG and passed songs that i thought would be "out of my league", and i havnt gotten as tired on ones i could already pass.
trust me, i know its tough to get your breathing regulated, it felt way unnatural to me at first, but it helps a ton.

Yeah, Arrabbiata is a bitch, because the crossovers and double stepping make me tense, and more likely to forget to breathe. I suppose I'll never bother to pass it, because I dislike the chart so much and the song is kinda sub par to me.
Breathing also makes a big difference in scoring. When I started breathing in time to the music, I saw my scores shoot up, from 30-40 greats on songs to 1-6.

if you can make yourself breathe properly, you'll probably score fairly well on it.

Wow thats a good idea, Iv never really thought about my breathing. Im a visual player so I have an easy time passing songs but I have an incredibly hard time scoring higher than AA. Iv recently tried to rely more on the music but I cant consistently AAA songs that I have AAA'd before. Hopefully this will help thanks.

Breathing is not a big priority for me when I play DDR. I just go with the flow. Oh and BTW, when I got my first metal dance pad (TX-2000), my skills skyrocketed. I started to PFC a couple of songs. If I remembered, I PFC'd the following:
Flight Of The Phoenix (CHA)
Shades Of Grey (EXP)
Votum Stellarum -Forest #25 DDR Mix- (EXP)
CRASH! (EXP)
... I forget the rest.

Wow, trying this NOW o.O
I'm terrible, so if I can get 6 greats on anything from this, you'll be my hero.

Breathing also helped me keep rhythm in the opening section of Under The Sky, and do the crossover stream smoothly.
As an added bonus, when your breathing is in line and you're getting enough air, you can try a song over and over again, because it's not as tiring. Those 9 runs on Eternus were all in a row, with just enough time to give the camera a shot of the screen and put it back on its tripod in between.

Always check yourself and make sure your breathing correctly. If you feel shortness of breaths you next to relax a little and a take a few deep breaths.
Drink plenty of water before you play as well between your songs. (i drink 2-3 liters per day)
dont take big steps. any time your hitting anything but the inseide sensors, your using more energy and wasting quickness of your step.
just a few quick tips for hard songs.

yeah, that's really work good for me... whenever i feel short on breath and the streams continues, i relax a little and make my way to breath again slowly and gradually until i gain air...

Have you ever played 4-player Solo 2000? It's pretty awesome, especialy when you're playing on the original pads, and can leap across to press your opponent's start buttons, during gaps in the steps!
No, we only had one cabinet per location. But man, THAT sounds like FUN! XD (Almost as bad as 4-player "Attack Mode" on Ultramix 2-4!)
Dancemania BASS is Beach-Booty remixes of popular Dancemania and party songs. A lot of them are ~160 BPM or so, as well. You think "My Baby Mama" is hard to explain, good luck with "Get Off" and "Freaky." XD
*sigh* Where did all the "sexy" go?

You can't actually affect each others' games, like you do in Disney's Rave and SuperNOVA 2. You just all play the same song at the same time and put people off by pressing the start button. It's the only modifier, but then it's the only modifier you really need.

I suddenly feel the need to rip and enjoy that Dancemania Bass CD which consists of nothing but over-the-op remixes of DDR songs.
I don't think anybody's stepped them :{
