I had quite a lot of fun with this one. ハピ恋☆らぶりぃタイム!! isn't necessarily something that would be near the top of my list of songs to chart, but after a quick on Z-I-v's handy Song Search for the word 'time', I found this one. Is it actually about time at all? Probably not, but it's in the title, so close enough. Anyway, the song is a mid-to-hard 8 with plenty of holds and some 16ths. The rhythms are a bit tricky in the chorus, so stay on your toes!

Last updated: 2015-07-23 02:33pm
I think this is the first time were I felt like I didn't have enough points to give to the simfiles I wanted to give points for; there were plenty of good files this week. Also, I have a song that could work for the current theme, but I don't really feel motivated enough to finish it this week.

I only have brief comments for the

charts (and other miscellaneous stuff), because even without mentioning the
and
charts, getting through all the charts was still time-consuming.

I only have brief comments for the

(I Think I'm Goin') Outta My Head - Liked the gallops in the beginning of the song, didn't like how the slowdown was handled or the rest of the 16th notes. A lot more creativity is surely needed in these two areas.
@( '_J')==@ - I don't think following the piano solo was a good idea, and
should be an 8 due to the high amount of chaos in this chart, but other than that, I really like the song itself and the rest of the chart here. Also, shock arrows in a
chart? I don't think they're really needed for this song either.
Abyss of Time (Wayang Kulit) - Interesting use of freeze arrows to force all those doublesteps, crossovers, and spins. I'm not sure if I would have done the same thing for this song, but I'll give you props for making the most unique chart this week for a surprisingly awesome song.
B.B.K.K.B.K.K. - There's an extra period in the .sm/.scc file that causes the video to not play; removing it easily fixed the problem. I question some of the rhythm choices in all the charts, as I would just stick to the "bass" and the "kicks" in the song, but the charts are varied and fun nevertheless.
BLACK.by X-Cross Fade - I really liked the chart up until measure 44, where the rest of the chart just fell apart for me, but it was a nice attempt. Let's just say I would have handled the jacks and the 16th notes a little bit differently.
Blaze it UP! - There's only one word I can think of when describing this file: mediocre. Other than a weird doublestep in measure 86, there wasn't really anything interesting or special about the chart at all. The steps just simply followed the keysounds to a point. I don't think I saw any crossovers anywhere in the chart either.
Break Free (feat. Zedd) - I didn't like the song at first, but the charts are surprisingly fun.
should be a 7 IMO, and I can picture a decent
chart being made for this song, but I still liked
a lot.
BUNNY! BUNNY!! BUNNY!!! - Artist should be "P*Light feat. mow*2"; I have no idea where that comma came from or why it's even there in the first place. Regarding the charts, I feel like there are a lot of missed opportunities here in regards to incresing the fun factor of this song; every chart feels very under-stepped. More crossovers, gallops, and crossover gallops, please! And the
chart doesn't need two extra measures of steps at the beginning of the song.
Codename: Zero - Good rhythm choices, although the patterns feel too simplistic for a song like this and the jacks, although they were perfect for this song, just didn't feel right because of the patterns. Personally, I was expecting more crossovers and crossover jacks after listening to this song.
Doodah! (K.O.G. Re-Edit) - I just noticed that you stepped this song already, so this file should be DQ'd unless I'm missing something in the rules about remakes. I remember Pandy saying to me that I couldn't release a certain file for the contest because I stepped the song itself before regardless of whether or not I had new charts for it. Either way, I still didn't like the charts; too many karaoke steps here, and I liked Lisek's ToI5 file a lot more.
Dr. M - The chart is oddly repetitive and simplistic, but they somehow fit the song pretty well. I liked it.
えっへん≦( ̄^ ̄)≧どやどす?天狗自慢 - Ew, romaji. I was able to add the original title directly into the .sm/.ssc files and it works just fine for me. I can't, however, do anything about the graphics, though.
Anyway, good rhythm choices for the
and
charts, but were those mines in the
chart really necessary? It took me a minute to realize that they're meant to be footswitch markers, but really, I'd say you might as well just turn them into shock arrows. Makes the chart more fun that way IMO.
Elektrick U-Phoria - Do those 8th/16th streams in measures 9-17 follow any part of the song whatsoever? Because they felt really forced, squeezing them in between the freeze arrows like that. The freeze arrows from measure 81 to the end of the song didn't make much sense either; a simple 8th stream felt more appropriate to me here. Also, I would have started the chart at measure 5, but to each his own, I guess.
En FIRE-G SOUL - Nice use of crossovers in the
chart; I wish there were more of those in the
as well. Other than that, though, the rest of the charts just felt boring and so I couldn't think of anything else to say. The
chart is awesome, though.
F.D.B. vs. Rituaal (Feraligatr MashUp) - I hate mines that serve no purpose other than to just be eye candy. That's my only complaint, really; the steps are still fun, but the file could do just fine without the mines.
Go Beyond!! - I was expecting boss-level charts to fit a boss-level song; the charts right now feel very under-stepped and I feel like a lot more can be done with this song. Sorry if I'm being vague this time; there were just too many gaps in the charts that really need to be filled.
How We Do (Party) - The "(Party)" in the title isn't supposed to be the subtitle, is it? Make sure you fix that if it's not. Anyway, the first couple steps felt really empty without any bass to back them up, and the steps following the guitar and vocals don't really help make them less empty either. Also, the sound quality as chewi already mentioned.
Hurry Up!(Tronix Dj Bootleg Edit) - I can't even . . .
I am... (album version) - The intro and outro to the song feels very over-stepped; I don't think stepping to the drum was really necessary here. As for the rest of the song, the steps were pretty good, although the overuse of crossovers really started to bother me after a while.
I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots, and Your Motorcycle - OMG that was so much fun! You managed to make the steps make sense while not explicitly following any particular part of the song, so good job. A
chart would be nice for this song, but then again, I worry that a chart that hard would be overkill for this song lol.
I Wanna Mmm... - Interesting song, but all the charts were far from interesting. I don't think I saw a single crossover anywhere in the song. The rhythm was too repetitive too and the song itself reflects that.
LegenD. - I couldn't find any faults whatsoever. It looks pretty easy for a 17 given the surprisingly low number of 16th streams, but the BPM and the jumps probably make up for that.
LUVORATORRRRRY! - OMG that chart was all over the place. I can't tell if the steps at any point are meant to follow any particular part of the song or not at all. And do I even have to mention the hands? Stick with what you did in the
chart and take away one of the freeze arrows.
Nude Beach a Go-Go - Loving the crossovers and spins in this one! Very fun.
Planetary (GO!) - Interesting use of 16th notes in this song. It took me a minute to figure out why they're there, and I think it works. Some of the 8th streams feel too repetitive from using copy/paste/mirror over and over again, though.
S!ck - I get what you're trying to go for with the custom movie, but was it really needed? Also, the
chart has some consistency issues on which part of the song to step. The BPM changes were unnecessary as well, and the steps should start at (your) measure 5.
So Fabulous!! - Sucks that the beginning of the video got cut off a little there; it can be easily remedied by starting the song at measure 1 instead of measure 0. I haven't seen any of the other simfiles for this song yet, but I highly doubt this file would be able to top all of them. This song doesn't really need a
chart, given that it feels like it tries to follow every single part of the song all at once. Meanwhile, some parts of the
chart were either weirdly stepped or understepped. I think the best
chart would find a good balance between your
and
charts.
The 4th KAC DJ TOTTO's SELECTION - I think it would be cooler if you actually took Windy Fairy's and STULTI's charts and put them in this file, but the new steps aren't bad either. The transitions between songs were nearly flawless.
Fun fact: I actually plan on releasing one of the songs in the medley later in the contest (given the right theme), but of course, I don't want to spoil which song it is just yet. ;)
Who done it?! - Did some of the steps even follow the song at all? The sounds must be really quiet if they are. Those steps don't even make sense in the context of this song either, as well as the karaoke steps. I'd say following the drums and bass lines more would make more sense for this song. Also, WTF was with measure 94?
ゆっくりしていってね!!! - Ironic title, much? Nice use of jacks and crossovers here. They reminded me of my 8 -eight- simfile, and I like it.
Zigeunerweisen, Op.20 - Not only is the audio quality noticably sub-par, but the bass sounds pretty harsh and unpleasant to hear. I don't know if that's an intentional part of the music or what. Anyway, there are plenty of doublesteps and jacks in these charts, and not the good kind. They feel like they're sprinkled into the charts without any real purpose or intent whatsoever.
@( '_J')==@ - I don't think following the piano solo was a good idea, and

Everyone is expecting this song to pop out anyway.
The next one will be something i've stepped before, not sure if I released it long ago. I hope nobody gets anal about it.

えっへん≦( ̄^ ̄)≧どやどす?天狗自慢 - Ew, romaji. I was able to add the original title directly into the .sm/.ssc files and it works just fine for me. I can't, however, do anything about the graphics, though.
Since I can't read traditional Japanese text at all (and I know I'm definitely not the only one) I prefer using romaji instead. Even if maybe I don't understand what the words mean, at least I know how it's pronounced. I'm not sure how to get certain characters to display properly in SM anyway, which is also why the ≦( ̄^ ̄)≧ part of the title was left out.

The 8th/16th streams were going to the synth playing in the background. I thought the one during measure 12 was obvious, but yeah I can see how the other three were iffy. It was done basically as "file filler" so there was more for the player to do, and it was dumb. The freeze arrows at the end were used instead of an 8th stream because I wanted the ending to be easy, giving the player some time to cool down. And... yeah, simple 8th streams would have been better. Oops.

I am... (album version) - The intro and outro to the song feels very over-stepped; I don't think stepping to the drum was really necessary here. As for the rest of the song, the steps were pretty good, although the overuse of crossovers really started to bother me after a while.
Hey, at least i'm improving!

Go Beyond!! - I was expecting boss-level charts to fit a boss-level song; the charts right now feel very under-stepped and I feel like a lot more can be done with this song. Sorry if I'm being vague this time; there were just too many gaps in the cha
I see where you're coming from. However, the only part of the song that I feel really warranted difficulty was the part with the constant 200BPM 16ths in the background. Even then, I didn't want to just make it a really long, monotonous stream or almost completely 16th stream. That would make this chat really skewed in terms of difficulty. Expert (
We can continue this via PM (sorry I haven't got back to you from like 4-5 weeks ago about my opinions on double steps and such)

I'm getting rid of all of my contest entries because I want to abandon my account for a new IP address and a new account if possible.
Sorry if I offend all of you, I just wanted to tell you that you were all posting in the wrong, irrelevant thread and I wanted to just share simfiles.
Anyways, I'm not participating in this contest anymore.

VERY good week! There's only a handful of files that I didn't really like. Also there's a crapton of honorable mentions.

Einstein-Rosen Bridge / Venetian Snares
3/5
5/7
8/11
10/15
12/17
...Yeah, this one's a doozy. This song features weird rhythms, a 7/4 time signature, and heavy sampling from a short-lived TV show about accidentally time-traveling back to prehistoric times. The steps are just as nutty as the song itself.
+4 I am... (album version) [DDRDAIKENKAI]
+3 LegenD. [Silverhawke]
+3 LUVORATORRRRRY! [ddrstepper]
+3 Pa Pi Pu Yeah! [ledgam3r1279]
+2 I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots, and Your Motorcycle [tsugaru7reveng]
HM: Dr. M [Damox]
After your first few entries, I really wasn't expecting something this good. Actually, the only reason I didn't give points is because of the whole "I'm not participating anymore" thing so it'd be a waste of points. Just know that I actually really liked this file.
HM: En FIRE-G SOUL [brunobg24]

Who done it?! [Damox]
Break Free (feat. Zedd) [chewi]
Doodah! (K.O.G. Re-Edit) [Akira]
This isn't a bad file, I just really really really really REALLY HATE THIS SONG don't take it personally
Zigeunerweisen, Op. 20 [Vinylyarou]
I Wanna Mmm… [Spirit of Nightmare]
Hurry Up!(Tronix Dj Bootleg Edit) [JunkoXXX]
dear god this was bad
