I bet that Disturbia's going to have one of those fun step charts that's only goes up to 8th notes, and Closer's going to go with the lyrics, and have a lot of jumps.

That's if the "Octomat" that is apparently coming with the 360 and PS3 versions arrives. Sounds like Konami are going all Technomotion on us.
Hoping if it is true that:
1) Konami learn how to do 8 arrow charts properly
2) They give a 6-panel solo mode to complement it, and to possibly ease the transition for players moving up to 8 panel dancing.

Nah, IIDX is the SIRIUS bemani game.
It could be interesting but my faith in Konami to pull this off properly isn't too high. Just hoping for the love of god they don't decide to push us to a 8-panel doubles, 16 arrows is probably a bit too much for me to comprehend playing.
And imagine the next Lesson By DJ...that'll be lulz worthy on 8-panel.

Of course, since they said only the 360 and PS3 will have this feature... I guess it's finally time to get a 360.

I don't mind playing some quad mode
To be quite honest quad mode probably wouldn't be that bad, provided Konami stuck to the nicer techniques and didn't spam arrows all over the place (Looking at you Share My Love doubles)
Doubles versus would become viable then (or even Doubles vs. Singles), which would be a really nice addition to DDR.
