Eh, the two stops near the end of SUPER SAMURAI that inflict Blue Arrow Syndrome on the rest of the chart are very sloppy. They really irritate me; I really hate sloppy stops. The steps are laid out well, though. I hope if they port it to AC they put triplets at the beginning where they're supposed to be instead of that 16th run; I don't think the HP engine supported triplets so we get weird 16th clusters on songs like Too Little, Too Late.

Ah, I figured out the code! Here's the Japanese text of the last DDR From Staff entry:
青空が出てあつーい日もあったり、
雨が降ったりしていますが、ゲームセンターにGOですよ!!
さぁみんな!
むずかしい曲も
ライバルたちと競い合って
いっぱいいっぱいプレーしてくださいね!
Now, if you read the first character of each line, you get:
-青雨
The first Kanji is the character for "Blue" and the second Kanji is the character for "Rain".
-さむラい
Read "Samurai".

SS is my favorite 10 since Extreme. No gimmicks, no unreadable BPM change, no impossible spins, just nice, senbible, stamina-killing goodness
If we're counting songs since the rating change, I'd also put in a very strong argument for on the bounce Expert. And if that's only just a 9, even Oni's good.

The Samurai song looks pretty hard... I never played it or tried it yet. I hope I can play well on it thursday so I can get a video though.

It's very interesting & I'm very surprised that SUPER SAMURAI will crossed over to DDR X...

But, I think that SILVER DREAM should be crossed over to DDR X too...

Awesome! Blue Rain and SUPER SAMURAI....
...i just wonder if these songs will be crossed over to this year's new title (for the purpose of putting the edits of the songs if the PS3/PS2 versions will have the ability to port the edits from the console to the AC). If so, then this will be sweet

Eh, I don't really like Super Samurai. It looks like it was stepped by an ITG player. Spammy jumps, 16th streams that don't really seem to fit... But I'm glad to see Blue Rain finally showing up. I have an awesome edit I want to play of it sometime when X... that is if X, gets step edits in the US.

I am practicing Super Samurai on SM now. I think I can PFC it, or at least AAA it tomorrow. I'll try for a PFC video though.

It wasn't. It was stepped by a Pump player.

I'm not doubting your knowledge, but how do we figure our who a step artist is unless they come out and say they did it? Especially for a game worked on over in Japanland.

HP1 was worked on by both American and Japanese step artists.

IIRC, the credits show both English and Japanese names.

The credits for HP1 lists several American names under "Stepchart Artists". Same with X.

Ahh ok. I wasn't sure if step artists were credited in the game or not. Thanks.

If I had made some of those charts, I wouldn't want to be listed in the credits.Still, do the credits list who made what, and do you people actually know that one of the artists is a Pump player?

Nope, the credits just list stepartists in general. They never connect them to a specific song/chart.

Because personally know the stepartist in question? Also - The only reason American names are listed on X is for the SN2 songs on there. X was all Japanese.

I know of at least one American step artist for X, and there are no Japanese names listed on the JP CS X credits under step artists.
Edit: There are two Japanese step artists in the AC credits, which I assume are the X-Special artists.

I wish I could be a step artist for DDR. I think I would be able to make some good charts.
