True, but even after that, you have a hell of a wire mess to deal with.
I forgot about that wire mess. Haven't dealt with one of those since helping repair an EXTREME machine 5 years ago...

What an enigmatic tease that Sega DDR fan is. Did Sega host the expo or something?

Not to be a dick
, but would anyone who has access to a DDR X machine take video (or pictures) of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th mix category songs? You have no idea how much I would appreciate this.

Mainly looking for stuff like Keep on Movin, think ya better D, trip machine (luv mix), love this feeling, etc...
Basically the stuff that was in early home versions and solo. They got switched around every other mix cause of differences between 3rd mix korea ver.A and the JP version (I think). Have fun at the arcade!

@ Viper: Never mind, but thank you for trying to help me!
@ Al2k4: Bookmarking that!
You rock!!! Small question, should keep on movin' be put in 2nd mix instead of the 3rd mix category in the simfiles? Just wondering.

Keeping it in 3rdMIX for now, as it has always been in 3rdMIX simfile-wise.

Basically, a song that was in a CS version anytime before an AC version would be put in the folder of the FIRST AC version it was in. For example, HVAM would be in the DDRMAX folder. At least, it has been this way by my observation...

It's Konami being weird about canonology.
Keep On Movin *IS* in DDR 2nd Mix (AC), but it's only playable in Couple Mode, and it doesn't have any proper step charts. It uses the "Step Battle" gimmick that only lasted for one game.
It re-appears in DDR 2nd ReMIx (CS), but only has Single Basic and Single Trick charts.
In DDR 3rd Mix (AC), it appears as a full song, and in the "3rd Mix" catagory. It isn't playable in the 2nd Mix mode.
The version on DDRX (and in the simfile database) is the 3rd Mix version. The 2nd Mix version doesn't exist as a simfile, because Stepmania can't simulate Step Battle Mode. There's a simfile for the 2nd ReMix version, but it's not on ZIV.
That would make sense :{
All the songs follow their established canonology, except the early ones.
Paranoia KCET and Paranoia Dirty Mix are both from DDR 1st (CS), but ended up in the DDR 2nd Mix (AC) catagory. Paranoia Dirty Mix is considered a "preview song", and is canologicaly from 2nd Mix (AC), but Paranoia KCET is meant to be the CS Boss Song, and it's always been considered to be from DDR 1st AC.
E-Motion and Genom Screams are listed under DDR 2nd Mix (AC). They both appeared in DDR Club Ver. but had different steps, audio and graphics. The versions used on DDRX are the versions taken from DDR Extreme. They were considered new (transplant) songs to DDR Extreme at the time.
Songs which debuted on 3rd Mix Plus (AC) are merged into 3rd Mix, regardless of prior CS appearances (using the previous or established logic, they should be in either 2nd Mix or 4th Mix)
Solo Bass Mix / Solo 2000 songs are merged into 4th Mix (which is established canon, unlike everything above)
Everything else is listed where you'd expect to find it.

It's probably a European DDRX machine. This is the first time we've ever seen anybody playing on one.
For some reason, everyone decided over 50 pages ago that the European machines were going to be unplayable, but nobody's actually played or seen one yet.

I've lost faith in DDR X as a whole thanks to the build quality of these cabs. Even if it eventually comes out in Europe, it'll get relatively few plays from me.

Well, for PS3 owner's, at least you can import with no mods, though importing is still a pain in the rear.

It appears to be the Betson cabinets with all four sensors per arrow in place and no HD lag. Could there be repair kits/software updates forthcoming for North America? They should at the very least save face.
