I read somewhere (can't remember where exactly) that, from the perspective of the one who wrote it, some DDR Japanese players that he/she know would prefer getting new content than having a new version, since having a new version in DDR adds nothing significant than UI overhaul, compared to other games like jubeat, SDVX, and IIDX.

I'm not denying that it looks fun and I'm definitely going to check it out when Round 1 gets it, but I think people are taking that whole "Dance Rush is the next step for DDR" quote way out of context and assuming the worst.

Dance Rush replacing DDR wouldn't be the worst. It'd actually be quite good.

Honestly, sound voltex is quickly becoming more fun for me than DDR. Especially since it's constantly getting more content, has a higher difficulty ceiling, and is just overall really really fun. DDR is good for cardio, and it's fun, but I'm starting to get over it.
