DS Fusion forces you to play:
Extra Stage : Paranoia Survivor Heavy 1.5x Reverse
OMES : Xenon Heavy 3x Reverse (no dark)
Extra Stage : Paranoia Survivor Heavy 1.5x Reverse
OMES : Xenon Heavy 3x Reverse (no dark)
Is there any confirmation this is true?
Far as I remember that is correct on our Fusion, but unsure of the mods it used. It was only ever achieved once on our machine.
There is no OMES on fusion AC there was on the PS2 version, having AAA'd Paranoia Survivor on a fusion Extra stage and not getting a OMES proved that

It can obviously be toggled on/off somehow in the operator settings somehow, or varies according to build, because a few Fusion machines genuinly seem to have the OMES disabled somehow.

Must have been just the extra stage then...remember no one got it since er...the day the machine was got in the aracade, and I wasn't playing then. All I saw was the "EXTRA STAGE" and some stupidly fast stuff coming at the guy.
I didn't start playing for 4/5 years after that I think, must have been the scary memory

That sounds like the Extra Stage. The OMES is slower and harder, because it's a song people are only used to playing with a high speed mod.
The "perfect" timing windows on Fusion is so wide that if you can pass the Extra Stage, you're almost certain of getting the OMES right after it.

Not really. Don't forget the requirement also required you to FC PARANOiA survivor due to Fusion's AA requirements.

Hmm, I'll see if I can get the guy who now has the keys to let me check out the operator menu.
Fat chance of us getting an X2 though

Nice world record.
Can someone remind me the rating I needed for Kimono Princess expert? Was it 35 or 40 after your three stages? >_< I need to learn this song so I can play it at the arcade and get to roppongi.

wow @ Dr.D's video
and I felt good about getting 984,xxx today lol. (though in my defense, those pads were crap, arrows were activating from vibrations resulting in Greats. and no one passed KIMONO PRINCESS without losing 3 bars lol.)

I think that it's a right decision for Konami to put all of the roppongi EVOVLED versions be selectable and playable in e-amusement enabled machines
and this:
this just made me go wow, even that sexy voice of yours just made go wow

No need, I have Fusion and I can confirm that ES/OMES is set by the dip switches on the main board.

This. Why have it as a setting? Must be the only mix that does, considering every single fusion machine ive played (That was in a playable state) didnt have OMES enabled

The OMES on Fusion means that good players will always get 5 songs per credit, and essentially get 1.7 "games" of DDR for £1.
First-time or less-skilled players will only get 3 songs per credit, which is normal for £1.
Unless you have an option to turn off he ES or OMES, there's no way to stop certain players being able to spend almost double the ammount of time on your machine as other players. This doesn't seem as much of a big deal in Japan as it is in Europe, and it's a bigger deal on Fusion than on Extreme, because Fusion's perfect window is the size of the moon.

As from what Tyma stated that is exactly the reason why.

Just get a AA on your 3rd song on expert/heavy and you'll unlock the extra stage. OMES is harder though. I've never gotten it.

but thats the beauty of ES/OMES. unlike certain games like fighters or shooters, you cant play DDR for a ridiculously long time. ES/OMES rewards good players by letting them continue just like not getting shot rewards players on shooters and winning rewards players on fighters. they cant play forever like someone can on a SSF4 machine, but they can at least be rewarded for their performance.
plus as someone else pointed out, fusion/extreme/festival engine has an FC requirement for AA. the perfect window might be home version sized, but having to FC PS, while far from being unheard of, isnt necessarily easy. i mean really, how many people here actually can? maybe 10% of this site? and thats a dedicated bemani crowd, the average player on basic sure as hell cant. hell, i can AA it with a decent great count (in the 20s) but i've only FCed it 2 or 3 times and i sure as hell cant on reverse.
i think you're making OMES on fusion sound easier than it really is.
also, it IS a bigger deal in japan than europe. nothing against europe, but how many players there compared to japan can get OMES?
and its as big of a deal on fusion and extreme because as i said, you dont have to FC LOM to get OMES on extreme.
the REAL big deal? SN2/X/X2. getting ES/EES on beginner? thats a bigger problem for arcade owners who dont want people playing 5 song sets because now i would estimate at least 75% of your user base can access EES.
