You can't compare Vertex^2 Challenge and Valkyrie Challenge scorewise.
First of all Vertex^2 is all about weird rythms, paterns, bpm changes, ect. Valkyrie have this but that's way less dramatical. Vertex^2 doesn't have a STUPID 240bpm 16th arrow stream.
Also chris is godlike timingwise. He have insane scores on songs like this... even quadded (or 3ex) Euphoria Challenge
The ITG and DDR timing are differents.
And last but not least, Vertex^2 came out in what, 2006. VD in 2012 ?
The only thing that those 2 charts have in commun is that they are both bad.

Also quickman and JanoDx the officals are far from some custom songs that you probably saw.

Agreed, ITG songs tend to focus more on footspeed and stamina while DDR adds complicated patterns and more jumps to the mix.
Disconnected -mobius-, Mythology, Oasis, Bloodrush, Soapy bubble to name a few : songs with technical crossovers if you want complicated paterns.
Jumps in the mix... hmm... Tell from ITG2 at least.
You want insane rythms and paterns ? Euphoria, go 60 go.
I'm not even talking about all the things that they add into the game and that DDR tried or not to copy (mines, hands, rolls, double chart with 6 notes at the same time, ect).
So please, don't sum up "ITG" with stamina. It's maybe what most people tend to play now but that's not how the game was designed at start.

[A bit more on topic]
Over the "period" isn't that even hard atm. People can't clear it because you have to get a PFC after using 100 dolars/euros whatever into the game. I'm sure that in normal play, a bunch of people here will AAA or even PFC the Heavy version when it will came out. I don't say it will be easy but i'm sure they are capable of this.
I'm a bit worried if they do a Challenge to be honest. VD (and a bunch of new "boss songs") where fine (not perfect but still fine) untill the Challenge came out.

Just pointing out the irony in accusing Konami of copying a game that is a literal clone of one of their games.

Pointing out that you can Good Full Combo pretty much anything just by mashing fast enough. The only way to combo break is to outright miss, which is impossible if you BS everything quickly enough. Both scores have dozens of Goods.

On the other hand, here's FEFEMZ getting an AA on VdimChallenge with only 2 Goods and 10 misses, where all misses are either during the 480 BPM or 372 BPM sections:

Yeah, to be honest if there was still the 'Almost' judgement there would be no Good Full Combo on this song.

The only thing that those 2 charts have in common is that they're both bad.

Actually, I agree 100%. Both charts suck. What I don't understand is, why people treat Vertex^2 so good, but VD has some hate from players. Maybe nostalgia, maybe because of ITG's timing, idk.

But I hope Konami gives us a good 19 for once, VDO was crap, PRO is somewhat decent with a cluster**** of an ending but it was decent at best, please OTPO has to be good, they had 2 charts of rehearsal and lots of 18 to make it up.

Really? I think PRO is the absolute worst chart I've ever seen in any rhythm game. I could make a better stepchart if I opened Stepmania's edit mode and had my dog take a shit on the keyboard. Apart from the stupid speed up in VDO I think the rest is more acceptable. Still hard, but there seems to be way less retarded jackhammers and spins. Just my thought's on the current 19s.

It would be nice to see a 19 stepchart that wasn't made by sadists.

You think PRO is worse than VDO? Seriously?

I can think of at least 10 off the top of my head that are worse, tbh. Not necessarily more difficult, but certainly more horrendous.

Everyone can do a better chart than PRO, but at least it's now doable compared to VDO, and it's much better as a chart, but still bad. One of them is Sonic 06 (VDO), the other is Shadow the Hedgehog (PRO). Something like that.

I personally think that if it wasn't for the original speed up in VDO, it would have been done long before. With PRO the jackhammers, 16ths at 360 and spins just pee me off more. Like 0 thought was put into making that chart. At least with VDO you do actually have relatively well thought out crossovers and stuff that's hard without being retarded.

The 16th crossover jump streams are manageble and relatively well thought out. The only reason you'd be double stepping is if you aren't quick enough to turn. And I've already said that yes the 480 bpm speed up is a joke. But I still don't think the chart as a whole is worse than PRO. I probably never will.

I'll admit that's a bad chart. But if you think that's in any way worse than PRO you are stupid. #sorryboutit

As a non-DDR example, I think Gambol(a) has to be pretty high up there
