I think he means if you try to go to encore stage as in playing Kimono Princess on extra (which it should still be red) and then getting Encore.

Its an interesting question, its possible you might not be able to choose but then again I didnt play today and have no idea. I'll play tomorrow but I'm sure the answer will be resolved by then.

I think it's going to be like DDR SuperNOVA 2 where the boss songs can also be selected via ES or EES and is still fully unlocked

I didn't get the top 30 on my local machine, but I do know the top 4:

1) Kimono Princess (I've been playing a lot :p )
2) Roppongi Evolved (I'm guessing this is up there, there's no way to confirm it, but I've played it 4 times)
3) Smooch
4) Always On My Mind (probably because of Happy Mode song selection)

I didn't know they ever made it to where you CAN change songs.

Whenever I got there, I was always stuck on MAX300 or MAXX Unlimted... <.< And if I ever AAed either (MAX300 only), I'd get Candy. I was never allowed to change songs...

Ever since SN2 you have been able to freely select your encore stage with the only exceptions in X2 being if you get 6 medals in RD your forced to play VD and now if you AA kimono princess u must play a random roppongi.

Just checking: the Extra Stage systems have been like this, right?

MAX:
- Unlock ES on AAing Final Stage on
- ES is forced to MAX 300 on 1.5x and Reverse with a NoRecover lifebar
- Unlock EES by AAing ES
- EES is forced to CANDY* on 3x and Reverse with a SuddenDeath lifebar

MAX2:
- Same as MAX except songs are MAXX UNLIMITED and KAKUMEI

EXTREME:
- Same as MAX except songs are The Legend of Max and Dance Dance Revolution

SuperNOVA:
- ES conditions are the same except the song is Faxx/Felm/HDV
- Unlock EES by Aing ES
- EES is forced to CHAOS with no mods except SuddenDeath lifebar

SuperNOVA2:
- Here is where I get confused about the ES system.
- A any song before Final Stage to unlock a special Final Stage song on the difficulty the song was A'd ( gets dropped to )
- AA any song before Final Stage to unlock a special Final Stage song on all difficulties except
- Do you have to play the special Final Stage song to unlock ES?
- ES can be any song on the same difficulty Final Stage was played on. Some special songs are only playable on ES.
- Unlock EES on the same difficulty ES was played on by AAing ES on any of the special songs. EES can be any song, but again, some special songs are only playable on EES.
- ES only has a battery lifebar forced on. It has 1, 2, 3, or 4 lives depending on score in Final Stage. EES is forced to no mods and a 1 life battery.

X:
- Similar to SuperNOVA2, with different special songs
- Difficulties that ES and EES are playable on depend on the total foot rating of previous songs.
- ES's battery lifebar now has 2, 3, or 4 lives. EES no longer forces modless.

X2:
- Here is where I get really confused.
- Is there a special Final Stage song? I heard deltaMAX was only playable on Final Stage before it was fully unlocked, but that might have been false.
- (The location test had POSSESSION as the special Final Stage song , with a different stepchart. It could only be played by fulfilling certain conditions on the previous songs. I vaguely recall a few being AAAing a previous stage and playing a previous stage on Risky.)
- Unlock ES by AAing every previous song.
- Kimono Princess is only playable on ES.
- (Does ES always have 4 lives now? Or is it possible to have fewer?)
- Unlock EES by AAing (KP only? Or any song?)
- EES used to be any song, with roppongi Evolved only playable on EES. Now, EES is forced to only rE; the first forced song since EXTREME, discounting RDA.
- There are 6 Replicant-D-Action songs only playable on ES. If one is AA'd on (and later and ), a medal is earned for that song and the credit ends with no EES opportunity.
- After getting all 6 medals, they are removed and the screen proceeds directly to EES forced on Valkyrie Dimension .

I'm sure I got something wrong in the above wall of text, so let me know of any corrections.
